Is this job info correct?

Spikeball is looking for a FULL-TIME Community Program Manager . Must be based in US or Canada. About Spikeball Our mission is to bring people together and help them find their circle. Our products inspire connection—getting people outside, staying active, and building friendships, all while playing a game they love. For 17+ years, we haven’t just improved an existing game—we’ve built an entirely new category and community. And we’re just getting started. With a passionate global community, strong brand recognition, and products people genuinely love, we see massive growth opportunities ahead. The missing link? A world-class community builder to fuel the next chapter of our expansion. At Spikeball, we live by five core values, and we’re looking for someone who embodies them: ✅ Motivated – You’re driven to improve, optimize, and push boundaries. ✅ Proactive – You don’t wait for direction; you see challenges and solve them. ✅ Collaborative – You thrive in a team environment and work seamlessly across departments. ✅ Challenge the Status Quo – You constantly ask, “Is there a smarter, better way?” ✅ Disciplined – You set ambitious goals, track progress, and iterate for results. The Role We’re hiring a Community Program Manager to own our end-to-end community strategy - driving customer engagement, strengthening brand affinity, accelerating product innovation, and increasing long-term growth across both digital and on-the-ground channels. You will launch and scale a customer ambassador program across multiple markets, mobilize a distributed team of community specialists, and deepen partnerships to expand our global footprint. You’ll also evolve Spikeball’s digital community experience—leveraging the Spikeball app and social platforms to launch challenges, gather feedback, and increase sustained participation. STOP READING, If This Isn’t You: You have 3+ years of highly relevant professional experience in community management or a closely related role. Being active in the roundnet community alone is not sufficient (it's also not that important)—we need proven experience managing a community on behalf of a brand. You are an independent self-starter with experience building new programs from zero-to-one, guiding geographically-distributed resources, and proactively bringing solutions to the table. What You’ll Do Develop and execute a cohesive community strategy: Lead initiatives that grow engagement with customers in target communities to increase revenue, boost brand sentiment, drive product ideation, and support long-term customer retention. Launch and scale a customer ambassador program: Collaborate with passionate, on-the-ground enthusiasts across multiple markets who will act as multipliers, expanding our community while driving product growth and brand awareness. Drive digital community growth: Advance and evolve our digital presence by defining how Spikeball’s app and social channels can best serve our community, launching in-app challenges, feedback-backed features, and engagement initiatives to boost long-term adoption and participation. Drive engagement and downloads in the new Spikeball app. Measure clear KPIs: Establish clear metrics that illustrate community value, including impact on customer lifetime value, satisfaction, retention, and product innovation. Inform a cohesive customer ecosystem: Participate in the ideation and implementation of a community tech-stack (e.g., Spikeball app, CRM, analytics, social channels, etc.), where relevant platforms sync to optimize operational workflows and streamline customer experience. Mobilize a remote team of community specialists: Identify, onboard, and motivate a distributed team of part-time contractors/interns, amplifying impact and growth amongst key buyer and player communities. Nurture long-term partnerships: Build authentic relationships with communities of all kinds (global roundnet governing bodies and organizations, college clubs, Ultimate teams, Young Life groups, and more) to secure partnerships that will expand Spikeball’s presence and mindshare. Support on-the-ground events: Partner with student leaders, clubs, and universities to maximize participation and brand affinity. What This Role Is Not This is not a 9–5 job. You’ll be working with players, customers, organizers, and tournament directors from all over the world, accommodating different time zones and catering to events that typically take place on weekends. The workload is manageable, flexible, and seasonal, but you shouldn’t expect traditional work hours. You are not a social media content creator. You’ll engage and manage channels, but you’re not a designer, copywriter, or video editor. You are not an events marketing manager. You’re not responsible for running event logistics. 98% of this role is done from a laptop and not in person. You are not a participant at tournaments. If you’re playing, you’re not supporting. A few thoughts from our founder and CEO, Chris Ruder: “I’m pumped about this role. We need a driven, super organized, strategic, community builder that can build and execute a strategy that results in trust, global relationships, and positions the business and brand as one that is here to help. At its core, this is a hospitality role. We need a person who has that intrinsic servant leader mentality and can do it from their laptop. The right person will get tingles up their spine when they see their work result in more people coming together and having fun. For example, when I see friends that have met through roundnet, I get a tremendous sense of pride that I had a little something to do with that. Some players end up getting married and having kids; that is just the best. We don’t need you playing roundnet with the community, but you are definitely here to strengthen the bonds within it. You must have experience building a formal community building strategy. Once built, you will execute against KPI’s that you defined to make sure progress is being made. You will help us think about some potential conflicting interests, like serving the competitive and casual/social roundnet communities, domestic vs international, what other communities to engage with, etc. Here’s another tricky one– who should get free sets? We donate a TON every year to Ultimate teams, Summer Camps, non-profits, and roundnet organizers. How will you decide who should get them? Thanks for taking the time to consider us, Chris Ruder” Next Steps If your experience includes what we detail above and you want to be part of a brand with a loyal fanbase, tons of room for growth, have fun, and be a part of a culture that values innovation and impact, we'd love to learn more. We have 3 questions we'd love you to answer. Quick reminder-- We're a remote company and 98% of our communication is the written word. Strong writing skills are critical. Put another way: REALLY give these some thought before hitting that submit button.
