The Opportunity: We’re actively seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Land Business Line in South Carolina and Florida. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting water and wastewater infrastructure projects by ensuring quality, safety, and compliance throughout construction. You will monitor field activities, perform on-site inspections, verify materials and installation methods, and coordinate with engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design specifications and industry standards. This position provides the opportunity to work on essential infrastructure projects while collaborating with experienced engineering and construction professionals in a field-focused environment. What You’ll Do: As a Construction Inspector, you will monitor and document construction activities on water and wastewater facility projects, ensuring work is performed safely and in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Inspect construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and related infrastructure. Verify installation of mechanical, electrical, and process piping systems for compliance with project plans and specifications. Perform field measurements, maintain daily inspection reports, and document work progress with photographs. Observe concrete placement, excavation, backfilling, testing, and equipment installation for compliance with project standards and safety requirements. Assist project engineers with RFIs, submittal reviews, and contractor coordination. Conduct or support field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as concrete, soils, and aggregates. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and quality assurance procedures. Communicate proactively with contractors, project managers, and clients regarding field conditions and potential issues. Participate in progress meetings, punch list inspections, and project closeout documentation. What You’ll Bring 2+ years of experience in construction inspection or a related field (water/wastewater project experience preferred). Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field preferred but not required. Working knowledge of municipal utility construction, pump stations, and treatment plant systems. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents. Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Certifications such as OSHA 10/30, ACI Concrete Field Testing, or NICET are a plus (PRIME AE supports employees in obtaining additional certifications). Valid driver’s license required. Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. Why PRIME AE: We don’t just fill positions; we invest in people.
