Job Title: Project/Program Manager I Job Description The Project/Program Manager I coordinates and completes complex projects and programs from initiation through delivery. This role oversees all aspects of project and program execution, including planning, scheduling, stakeholder communication, and reporting. The position requires strong project management and operational execution skills, extensive travel to facilities for on-site leadership, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Coordinate and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of projects and programs, ensuring successful completion within scope, time, and quality expectations. Oversee all aspects of assigned projects and programs, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Set project and program deadlines, define milestones, and develop detailed schedules and plans. Assign responsibilities to project team members and vendors, and provide clear direction to ensure alignment with project goals. Monitor and summarize project and program progress, proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies. Prepare clear, concise status reports and updates for upper management, highlighting progress, risks, and mitigation plans. Lead and direct the work of others, including internal stakeholders and external vendors, to drive effective collaboration and execution. Perform a variety of project-related tasks, adapting to changing priorities and requirements as needed. Exercise creativity and sound judgment to plan and accomplish goals, leveraging a wide degree of latitude in decision-making. Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and external vendors to deliver successful project outcomes. Plan and execute infrastructure and operational retrofit projects that improve safety, efficiency, capacity, and customer experience across the network. Travel extensively to facilities to lead on-site project execution, engage with stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery. Execute with urgency and adapt quickly to evolving business needs in a fast-paced environment. Support key project milestones and critical business needs, including occasional flexibility beyond standard business hours. Essential Skills Proven project management experience, including coordination and completion of projects and programs. Operational execution experience with a track record of delivering results. Experience leading and directing the work of others in a project or program environment. Strong skills in project management, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and progress tracking. Vendor management experience, including coordinating and partnering with external vendors. Project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to execute with urgency and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Willingness and enthusiasm to travel extensively in support of the business, including frequent on-site engagement at facilities. Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures in the project and program management field. Ability to use judgment and limited experience to plan and accomplish goals while working with a wide degree of creativity and latitude. Ability to prepare clear and accurate reports for upper management regarding project and program status. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required. 2–4 years of experience in project management, program management, or a related area is typically expected. Experience working with cross-functional teams such as Operations, Engineering, and Safety. Experience managing infrastructure or operational retrofit projects is beneficial. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for partnering with internal teams and external vendors. Ability to work independently while reporting to a manager or head of a unit or department. Work Environment This is a remote project management role with extensive field engagement. The position requires more than 90% travel to facilities to lead on-site project execution, partner with stakeholders, and ensure successful delivery. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, following standard business hours with an expected 40-hour workweek. Limited overtime may be required, and flexibility is expected to support key project milestones and critical business needs. The role involves close collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and external vendors in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on infrastructure and operational retrofit projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Atlanta, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
