Job Description Shopify Developer Company: DermaQuest Inc | dermaquestinc.com Type: Part-Time | 20 hrs/week | Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM PT Location: Remote – Pacific Time Zone Experience: 3–5 Years About the Role DermaQuest Inc is a professional skincare brand with over 20 years in the industry, offering science-backed products to both retail consumers and licensed estheticians across the country. We're looking for a skilled Shopify Developer to help maintain and grow our eCommerce storefront, ensuring a seamless shopping experience across our DTC and B2B channels. This is a part-time remote role ideal for someone who can work independently, move quickly, and take ownership of storefront quality during a focused 4-hour daily shift. Responsibilities Maintain and enhance the DermaQuest Shopify storefront, ensuring all pages, collections, and product listings are up to date and functioning correctly. Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to match brand standards across DTC and professional-facing experiences. Build and maintain custom sections, templates, and metafields to support marketing campaigns, new product launches, and seasonal promotions. Integrate and manage third-party Shopify apps (e.g., spa locator, subscription/recurring purchase, reviews) and troubleshoot any conflicts or issues. Collaborate with the marketing team to implement landing pages, collection updates, and homepage banner changes on a regular cadence. Optimize storefront performance — page speed, Core Web Vitals, and mobile responsiveness — to support SEO and conversion goals. Support the B2B/pro portal (dermaquestpro.com) with any Shopify-related development needs and cross-site consistency. Monitor and resolve bugs, broken links, checkout issues, and any storefront errors in a timely manner. Implement and test Shopify Scripts, discount logic, and checkout customizations as needed for promotions and customer segmentation. Assist with product data management including tagging, variant setup, metafields, and bulk imports/exports. Day-to-Day Duties Log in at 9:00 AM PT and review any overnight bugs, broken assets, or urgent storefront issues flagged by the team. Pick up and execute tickets from the task queue — ranging from theme edits and new section builds to app configurations and content updates. Sync briefly with the internal team (marketing, ops, or management) via Slack or email to align on priorities, campaign timelines, or pending launches. Test all changes in a staging/dev environment before pushing to production, ensuring nothing breaks on mobile, desktop, or across browsers. Document completed work, code changes, and any known issues or technical debt to keep the team informed and maintain continuity. Requirements 3–5 years of hands-on Shopify development experience Proficiency in Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience with Shopify theme customization and custom section development Familiarity with Shopify APIs, metafields, and app integrations Experience with subscription/recurring purchase apps a plus Comfortable working independently in a part-time, remote capacity Available Mon–Fri, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Pacific Time
