To learn more about CIBC, please visit CIBC.com What you’ll be doing Reporting to the Director, Corporate Events, the Consultant is responsible for delivering a variety of events for CIBC; liaising with the various business units to maximize efficiencies in the business and provide a seamless, consistent approach to events including the creation and execution of events, the sharing of information and best practices. This role has the delegated responsibility for the successful project management, coordination and execution of events with minimal direction. The incumbent will be expected to travel periodically in support of business needs. The objective for managing event requests through Corporate Events is to ensure that we maximize our Corporate Events opportunities with an adherence to consistent standards and processes associated with working with multiple stakeholders and partners across CIBC. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. This is subject to business needs and there may be additional on-site days required. Kindly note this is a 12 month contract position. How you’ll succeed Full Event Ownership - You will apply a comprehensive, conceptual and practical understanding of the organization and delivery of events and conferences to a wide range of business and technical situations, from problem identification to measuring the effectiveness of implemented solutions. You will consult with the executive leadership team and advise and make recommendations in their best interest. You will negotiate contracts on their behalf, manage budgets including financial reconciliations. Manage - You will manage multiple projects, on time and on budget, to the clients satisfaction. Manage external vendors as required to execute events and programs within scope and with consistency. Manage and maintain external client facing data and follow current procedures to have data updated regularly. Relationship building - You will build relationships and work with key senior internal stakeholders to centralize event activities, and ensure all events are delivered with consistency and in a timely, effective and cost efficient manner. As the owner of the program, you will be responsible for all client communication. Who you are You’re passionate about people. You can demonstrate a minimum of 2 years’ experience in event management with recent experience in virtual events management environment.
