Consultant - Senior Power Platform Security Engineer

THE OPPORTUNITY: We are seeking a Senior Power Platform Security Engineer to support a Fortune 100 organization in strengthening governance, security, and operational maturity across its enterprise Power Platform environment. This role is ideal for a senior engineer who enjoys operating at the intersection of security, governance, automation, and platform operations. You will help design and implement governance controls, automate remediation activities, improve operational efficiency, and drive security outcomes across a large-scale low-code/no-code ecosystem. This is not an application development role. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of outcomes, navigate ambiguity, identify gaps and opportunities, and proactively drive work forward with minimal direction. Success in this role requires both technical depth and strong stakeholder engagement skills. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Governance & Security Design and implement governance controls across Power Platform environments. Develop and maintain remediation playbooks aligned with enterprise security requirements. Identify security, compliance, and governance gaps and drive remediation efforts. Support onboarding and operationalization of new security controls. Improve visibility into platform security posture through reporting, dashboards, and governance metrics. Automation & Tooling Build and maintain automation using PowerShell, REST APIs, Power Platform Admin APIs, Microsoft Graph, and related technologies. Develop tooling to reduce manual governance and compliance activities. Create scalable workflows for policy enforcement, monitoring, remediation, and reporting. Support secure-by-default deployment and operational governance practices. Stakeholder Partnership Partner with security, engineering, compliance, and platform operations teams. Translate business and security objectives into actionable technical solutions. Facilitate discussions, make recommendations, and help drive decisions. Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Program Maturity Help establish repeatable governance processes and operating models. Reduce dependency on tribal knowledge through documentation and knowledge sharing. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability. Contribute to long-term governance and risk reduction strategies. WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE Successful candidates: Take high-level objectives and independently create execution plans. Proactively identify risks, blockers, and opportunities. Drive work forward without waiting for detailed instructions. Demonstrate ownership of outcomes rather than simply completing assigned tasks. Bring recommendations and solutions to stakeholders. Build trust through clear communication, accountability, and follow-through. Balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution. Operate effectively in complex enterprise environments with multiple stakeholders. Your experience: 5+ years administering and securing Microsoft Power Platform environments in enterprise organizations. Experience designing and implementing governance programs for Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, or related Microsoft platforms. Strong understanding of: Power Platform Administration Power BI Administration Environment Strategy & Governance Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Policies Tenant Administration Identity and Access Management Security and Compliance Controls Experience developing automation using: PowerShell REST APIs Microsoft Graph Power Platform Admin APIs Experience implementing governance, remediation, and compliance workflows. Experience working directly with technical and business stakeholders. Ability to operate independently in ambiguous and evolving environments. Preferred experience: Microsoft Fabric Zenity or similar low-code/no-code security platforms Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Defender for Cloud Apps Microsoft Purview Dataverse security architecture Enterprise governance and remediation reporting Fortune 500 or large enterprise environments Security engineering, GRC, or compliance programs The ideal candidate is viewed as a trusted advisor, not simply an implementer. You are comfortable leading conversations, making recommendations, and driving progress. You bring a strong point of view, can operate with limited direction, and enjoy helping organizations mature their governance and security capabilities. You are equally comfortable discussing strategy with stakeholders and building technical solutions that make that strategy real. WHAT WE OFFER: Salary range for this role is $100,000-$125,000 per year, dependent on experience.
