Job Overview: This position is responsible for ensuring the comprehensive assessment and underwriting of a variety of consumer loan products, including but not limited to auto loans, secured and unsecured lines of credit, and recreational vehicle financing. What You’ll Do: Analyzes loan applications, credit bureau reports, collateral evaluation, member account data, financial statements, tax returns, and other loan documentation to make, lending decisions on a variety of loan products in conformance with, fair lending, regulatory compliance, and established credit union policies and procedures. Reviews loans to ensure accuracy and effectively communicate with the consumer lending team, branches, dealer and merchant partners regarding credit decisions. Fosters and maintains positive relationships with dealer and merchant partners through verbal and written communication Keeps current with knowledge of lending product updates, criteria, guidelines, procedures, policies, and processes to make sound lending decisions. Supports process improvement, projects, special programs and business objectives. Acts with the authority of the Credit Manager, making loan decisions that may fall outside of the established guidelines. Reviews and decisions consumer credit applications for employees of the credit union and business partners. Sets a positive example for others by modeling superior service skills during interactions with all parties. Acts as a mentor in assisting Lead or Manager providing underwriters with up-to-date tools, training and development to maintain consistency in underwriting consumer loans within the framework of our lending policies and guidelines. Assists the Lead or Manager with such operational activities as scheduling, conducting meetings, and attending meetings in the absence of the Lead or Manager. All other duties as assigned. When You'll Be Working: Monday through Friday, and rotating Saturdays or Sundays, 9am to 6pm. Qualifications: Minimum of five (5) of consumer lending processing and underwriting experience.
