Overview This Content Strategist develops social media strategies and content tailored to corporate brand channels and executives within these organizations. Project management skills are critical as this role is responsible for ensuring that all deadlines are met while supporting team members to deliver high-caliber creative concepts, best-in-class analysis of content and engagement performance, and strong social copy for brands and executives. This role will also be highly visible within the clients’ organization and will regularly offer strategic counsel on how to optimize social media content in order to deliver the strongest performance metrics that meet and exceed established KPIs. Success in this role requires creative thinking, exceptional writing, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to turn data-heavy results into compelling insights through regular reporting. Experience with employer brand or executive copywriting is a plus, as is familiarity with paid or influencer social—but not required. Responsibilities Develop social media content plans for clients Identify and develop content for each channel, capturing the appropriate voice and tone for the brand or executive Apply strategic/creative thinking skills to gain insight and devise content strategy Manage clients’ social media channels Develop, maintain and update the social content calendar; develop timelines, distribute/post content, manage deadlines Monitor social channels and identify real-time engagement opportunities discovered via social listening; act upon opportunities Identify negative/risky content and/or commentary by followers; take action to minimize impact to the client Copywriting: Ability to translate complex concepts across nuanced subjects (e.g. finance, science) into digestible social content Proficiency in establishing and maintaining a client’s/brand’s social media voice and tone Ability to manage content reviews with little to no oversight and maintain best in class standards with team, providing comprehensive and thoughtful feedback to team members as required Establishes content creation best practices and guidelines with teams, liaising with internal content studio/design teams as needed Monitor and analyze program results: Compile reports for clients across various program activities Ability to craft strong executive summaries for senior stakeholders Deep understanding of KPIs and social metrics Ability to translate data into actionable insights and identify trends over time to craft thoughtful optimization recommendations for improved performance Understand the resources and tools needed to achieve the clients’ social media marketing objectives; complete tasks that meet objectives Demonstrate an understanding of the social media landscape and how to use social channels to drive brand awareness and engagement for clients Ability to: Understand the intricacies of established and emerging social channels Optimize social strategy and messaging to effectively engage with relevant audiences Craft content appropriate for different audiences and different social channels Collaboratively and autonomously plan and develop content to drive engagement on social channels Understand the clients’ business and relevant industry trends, and use the information to develop strategic social media content plans Manage multiple projects for multiple clients in diverse industries Travel to client and event locations; meet with clients at their office locations/headquarters Serve as a primary client contact Lead client calls, meetings, presentations and client brainstorms; attend client events Accommodate and anticipate client needs; make appropriate recommendations to clients Respond to requests for information from clients in a timely manner Share relevant articles/trends with clients, along with ways to implement/impact their business Demonstrate solid writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills Participate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programs Actively participate in agency committees or departments as designated/asked Participate in agency projects and events Assist in compilation of case studies and awards presentations Conduct research for new business and business renewal opportunities Stay current with developments in social media, current trends, technology updates and top news stories in the clients’ and brands’ spaces Show integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clients Deal constructively with client and personnel situations Qualifications B.A. in Marketing, Public Relations or the like Three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing brand social channels, including strategy and planning Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Proficiency with social media management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprinklr) and social listening/analytics platforms (e.g. NetBase, Radian6, SimplyMeasured) Excellent social-first writing and editing skills Compensation In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $70,000-90,000 annually, and may be eligible for overtime pay. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
