NAIT’s Crane & Hoist Equipment Operator programs prepare students to operate any boom truck or mobile. As well as training them in advanced rigging practices for any load they may encounter as a crane operator. C rane & Hoist Equipment Operator programs at our Spruce Grove Campus is currently recruiting a continuing instructor who is an energetic leader, committed to student success, and has outstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. The successful candidate will: Have strong technical knowledge Be able to work both independently and within a team environment Bring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborative and dynamic team Have strong technical knowledge Be able to work both independently and within a team environment Bring passion, enthusiasm, and ideas that will positively contribute to the advancement and growth of the program and the culture of our collaborative and dynamic team Key Responsibilities: Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention Respond to student issues Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities Other duties as assigned Skills & Abilities: Excellent interpersonal Skills Strong desire to help students succeed Excellent communication skills Knowledge of computers Qualifications: High School Diploma Completion of Crane and Hoist Equipment Operator Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent required including Inter-Provincial Red Seal an asset Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket preferred Teaching experience an asset Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES). Classification – Instructor This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement. Remuneration: Refer to salary range noted on this posting, plus a comprehensive benefits package. Will commensurate with education and experience. Note: starting salary for new instructor hires average mid-range based on education and experience.
