Contract Lead Data Engineer

We are recruiting for a Contract Lead Data Engineer for a 6 month contract to start ASAP. Candidates must be able to commute to Stratford once a week. The Role: Be a technical lead for key initiatives, act as a technical authority and knowledge source for the wider team, providing mentorship to help others grow their technical capabilities. Work in collaboration with Product and Project Managers, Architects, etc to identify requirements. Transition high level designs design to delivery, by working closely with solution architects and supporting key transition activities. Provide significant contribution to test strategies and plans as determined by the project or initiative. Serve as the primary technical contact for scientific teams, translating research workflows and data requirements into scalable technical solutions. Design and implement complex cloud solutions for scientific workloads, staying current with research-focused services. Apply SRE and DevOps best practices, implementing automation and CI/CD pipelines to reduce toil and improve reliability. Experienced with AWS and hybrid cloud architecture. Experienced with Infrastructure as Code, Python, R, CI/CD and Linux. Experience of cloud-native architecture and clouds services, various SQL and noSQL databases, as well as messaging queues.
