As our Contract Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting Business Units across the organisation to procure goods and services in accordance with legislative requirements, procurement best practice and the City's policies and procedures. You'll provide expert advice throughout the procurement lifecycle, manage contract administration activities and coordinate sourcing processes that deliver value-for-money outcomes for the community. Working closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers and contractors, you'll help strengthen procurement capability, mitigate risk and ensure transparency, accountability and probity in procurement activities across the City. What You'll Be Doing Partner with Business Units to provide procurement advice, support and guidance across sourcing and contract activities Coordinate and administer non-complex tenders, quotations and market engagement activities Manage contract renewals, extensions, variations and Deeds of Novation Track contract expiry dates and facilitate renewal and extension processes Prepare procurement and contract documentation, correspondence and reports Support tender evaluations, consensus meetings and recommendation reports Conduct due diligence and coordinate compliance checks of supplier submissions Maintain tender and contract registers and ensure accurate record keeping Provide training and support to staff using procurement systems and processes Assist with procurement reporting, performance monitoring and risk management activities Contribute to process improvement initiatives that strengthen procurement governance and efficiency Position Description What You'll Bring We're looking for a procurement professional who is customer-focused, detail-oriented and passionate about delivering compliant and effective procurement outcomes. You'll ideally bring: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, preferably Purchasing or Procurement, or equivalent procurement experience Experience in procurement practices and sourcing processes Experience preparing sourcing and tender documentation within a compliance-driven environment Experience using electronic sourcing systems and procurement technologies Knowledge of competitive sourcing and procurement best practices Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving capabilities Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and experience with document management systems Knowledge of local government procurement, contract administration and Australian Standards will be highly regarded Why You'll Love Working Here Work Your Way Flexible working arrangements, free parking and convenient access to public transport.
