Controller

Strategic CFO is a consulting company that partners with growing businesses across Texas and the United States. Each Controller is assigned to a dedicated NearSourcing™ client, serving as an integral part of that client's finance team.

This is a full-time, remote position based in Latin America. Applicants must have a valid passport and a current U.S. visa, as international travel to Houston, Texas is required for onboarding and quarterly thereafter. Candidates who do not currently possess both a valid passport and a valid U.S. visa will not be considered.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a practical, proactive, and highly coachable Controller with exceptional technical accounting knowledge. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and communicates effectively with professionals at all levels of an organization.

As part of one of our NearSourcing™ teams, you'll work exclusively with a single client, becoming a trusted member of their finance organization while collaborating with Strategic CFO professionals.

Position Responsibilities

• Serve as the dedicated Controller for one NearSourcing™ client.
• Lead the monthly close process and prepare U.S. GAAP financial statements.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal controls.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, processes, and procedures.
• Prepare account and intercompany reconciliations.
• Perform financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and P&L forecasting.
• Collaborate closely with your Strategic CFO team and client personnel.
• Be available virtually during normal business hours (Monday-Friday) via Microsoft Teams with camera on.
• Travel to Houston, Texas for onboarding.
• Travel to client locations in the United States approximately once per quarter.
• Perform other accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.
  

Qualifications

• CPA, Contador Público, or Chartered Accountant required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous Controller or CFO experience required.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including U.S. GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborative team player with a hands-on attitude.
