Coordinator Equipment Dispatch

Supplies equipment to shippers, truckers, and railroads, while managing the inventory of equipment in their area of operation. They ensure that appropriate containers and equipment levels are maintained to meet customer needs in a timely manner while controlling costs. • Tracks and releases equipment daily for all depots/terminals in the area to ensure accurate inventory records. • Ensures that customers obtain equipment which meets their shipping needs in a timely fashion. • Controls and manages temporary import permits and paperwork before customs authorities. • Creates empty bookings as required. • Repositions containers that are sold or for sale, to the buyer. • Plans and steers empty containers on vessel, barge and feeder. • Tracks and traces overdue equipment to ensure faster turn-around and decrease of turn- around times. • Issues works orders to reposition equipment by rail and/or by truck. • Ensures that all equipment is at the appropriate location. • Controls costs for positioning equipment and evaluates vendor performance. • Handles inquiries relating to equipment releases or inventory availability. • Reviews gate in, gate out and empty container transport invoices • Coordinates and executes all aspects of Area Canada’s off-hire program. • Liaises with Customer Service, depots and terminals to ensure redelivery of scheduled off-hire units. • Additional ad-hoc duties as required • University degree or equivalent. • Legal right to work in Canada and residence in Montreal. • Minimum 2 years experience in the maritime industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Due to the international nature of the business, strong command of English is a requirement, French is required for local communication. • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). • Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to follow guidelines. • Proven ability to handle customer requests efficiently and professionally. • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail. • Cost control mindset with experience evaluating vendor performance. • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and adapt to changing priorities
