Coordinator of Volunteers

Role Description The Coordinator of Volunteers is a part-time remote role responsible for organizing, supporting, and optimizing volunteer engagement across ELIXIR Global initiatives. This role involves recruiting and onboarding volunteers, scheduling assignments, maintaining volunteer records, and ensuring that volunteers have clear expectations and resources. The Coordinator will develop and deliver volunteer training, provide regular communication and updates, and serve as a primary point of contact for volunteer questions or concerns. Daily activities include collaborating with internal teams to identify volunteer needs, facilitating virtual meetings or orientation sessions, and tracking participation and impact. The role also includes contributing to community outreach efforts, helping to build diverse and inclusive volunteer networks aligned with ELIXIR Global’s mission.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Volunteer Management and Volunteer Training to effectively coordinate, onboard, and support volunteer teams.
• Candidates should possess strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills to build trust, provide clear guidance, and foster a positive volunteer experience.
• Candidates should possess experience in Community Outreach to engage diverse communities, promote volunteer opportunities, and strengthen external partnerships.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and use digital tools for scheduling, communication, and data tracking.
• Previous experience in non-profit, community programs, or volunteer coordination is beneficial; education in social sciences, human services, or related fields is a plus.
