Is this job info correct?

Copywriter & Content StrategistArt, Interiors & Design-Led Brands | Psychology-Led, Revenue-Focused

About the Role

We’re looking for a highly curious, commercially minded copywriter and content strategist with a genuine interest in art, interiors, design and the psychology behind what makes people respond, connect and buy.

You’ll work across a small portfolio of growing brands, primarily:

  • An established British art, tableware and homeware brand
  • A premium kitchen and bathroom renovation business
  • Other aesthetically led brands within the interiors, home and lifestyle space

Your role will be to help shape how these brands communicate: finding the stories, ideas and creative angles that make their products and services feel desirable, distinctive and emotionally relevant.

You’ll need to understand how to build desire, communicate aesthetic value, handle objections and influence customer decisions—without sacrificing taste, restraint or brand integrity.

What You’ll Be Working On

You’ll contribute across a broad mix of copy, content and creative strategy, including:

  • Email newsletters and customer journeys
  • Organic social media concepts, captions and campaigns
  • Ad copy, hooks and creative angles
  • Brand stories, founder narratives and editorial content
  • Blog articles and website copy
  • Short-form and long-form video scripts
  • Product, collection and campaign messaging
  • Influencer outreach and content direction
  • Customer personas and psychology packs
  • Brand positioning and tone of voice
  • Customer, cultural and competitor research
  • Ideas for visual content, photography and storytelling

This is not a role where you’ll simply be handed a headline to rewrite or an article title to expand.

We want someone who can explore a brand, understand its audience and identify compelling stories or content opportunities that others might overlook.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys thinking deeply about why people respond to certain words, images, stories, spaces, objects and ideas.

You should be interested in the relationship between copy and visual identity—and understand that, within art, interiors and design-led brands, the way something is communicated matters almost as much as what is being communicated.

You’ll need to be comfortable working across both brand and performance. The work should help generate attention, trust and revenue, but it should never feel loud, generic or unnecessarily sales-led.

We’re particularly interested in people who naturally consume or create content relating to:

  • Art and illustration
  • Interiors and architecture
  • Homeware and tableware
  • Food, hospitality and entertaining
  • Craftsmanship and creative processes
  • Design-led lifestyle and ecommerce brands

You do not need professional experience in every one of these areas, but you should have a genuine interest in the visual and cultural world surrounding them.

The Type of Person Who Will Thrive

You’ll likely be a strong fit if you are:

  • Highly curious and creatively observant
  • Commercially minded
  • Intuitive about people and their motivations
  • Interested in art, interiors, design or visual culture
  • Able to recognise what makes a brand feel distinctive
  • Interested in psychology, persuasion and emotional storytelling
  • Comfortable conducting customer and competitor research
  • Able to think beyond a narrow copywriting brief
  • Excited by brand positioning and revenue-generating creative work
  • Capable of generating ideas for both written and visual content
  • Proactive and comfortable working independently
  • Someone with strong taste who can explain the thinking behind their choices

AI Is Important to This Role

We want someone who is genuinely excited by AI.

You do not need to be an expert, but you should already be using AI in some way to improve your research, thinking, writing or creative output—and be eager to keep developing in this area.

We are not looking for someone who uses AI to generate generic copy and considers the work finished.

We want someone who sees it as a serious creative and strategic tool: helping them research more deeply, explore more original directions, interrogate their thinking and produce stronger work.

Working Style

We are primarily a remote-working team, so you’ll need to be proactive, organised and comfortable taking ownership without being micromanaged.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety, ambiguity and creative problem-solving. You may move from developing a founder-led email one day to researching the emotional motivations behind a kitchen renovation or shaping a campaign around an artist’s collection the next.

You should find that variety energising rather than unsettling.

This Role Is Probably Not for You If

  • You want every day to look the same
  • You only want to work from tightly prescribed briefs
  • You don’t enjoy abstract or strategic thinking
  • You have little interest in art, interiors, design or visual storytelling
  • You need a traditional office environment
  • You see work purely as a means to an end
  • You only want to write within a narrow copywriting remit
  • You are not genuinely interested in what makes people respond or buy
  • You believe good copy is simply copy that “sounds nice”
  • You are resistant to using AI meaningfully

Experience

Experience is valuable, but it is not the main thing we care about.

What matters more is your curiosity, taste, commercial awareness, trustworthiness and the way you approach creative problems.

You may already be an established copywriter or content strategist. Equally, you may come from an editorial, social media, art, interiors, design, creative or brand background and have an exceptional instinct for language and storytelling.

As part of the hiring process, there will be a short practical copy and strategy task. We want to understand how you research, structure ideas, interpret a brand and use creativity and psychology to achieve a commercial objective.

Growth Potential

For the right person, this role can develop into a broader creative strategy, brand positioning or content leadership position across the portfolio.

You’ll have the opportunity to help shape not only what our brands say, but also the stories they tell, the content they create and the way they present themselves to the world.
