The Role As a Corporate Communications Manager, you’ll own external communications that shape how the world understands our mission and leadership in AI. You’ll craft narratives that highlight the role of high-quality human feedback in building better AI, drive media engagement, and ensure Surge’s voice is clear, credible, and compelling across all channels. What You’ll Do Lead corporate communications strategy across media relations, executive visibility, research announcements, and industry positioning Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets, proactively pitching stories that elevate Surge’s voice in AI Develop high-impact communications materials—press releases, blog posts, briefing docs, and executive statements—that make technical work accessible and newsworthy Launch and manage multi-channel campaigns that strengthen Surge’s reputation as a thought leader in AI Counsel leadership on communications opportunities, risks, and messaging to ensure clarity and consistency across external touchpoints What We’re Looking For Proven corporate communications experience in tech, AI, or fast-growth industries, with a track record of media engagement and reputation building Exceptional writer and storyteller, able to translate complex technical or research-driven content into clear, compelling narratives Skilled in media relations, issues management, and executive communications, with strong relationships (or the ability to build them) across press and industry networks Highly collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, founder-led environment
