This role owns TriMark’s Private Label program end-to-end, from development through range implementation, supported by Category Management on range input and reverse engineering to target price points. The Vice President, Sourcing serves as TriMark’s lead commercial negotiator and vendor decision-maker, responsible for strengthening supplier economics, improving working capital and EBITDA outcomes, and building an execution-focused team. This leader works hand in hand with the Vice President, Category Management — who owns vendor development, vendor QBRs, and range development — and partners closely with Supply Chain, Sales, Pricing, Finance, and Operations. Both roles are jointly accountable for shared enterprise KPIs. Key Responsibilities Lead Supplier Negotiations and Commercial Terms Own negotiation strategy and execution across TriMark’s product portfolio: cost of goods, rebates, payment terms, freight terms, exclusivity, growth incentives, marketing funds, and service-level commitments. Develop and execute an annual supplier negotiation roadmap tied to margin improvement, working capital enhancement, and category strategy priorities. Lead complex negotiations with strategic vendors, balancing commercial outcomes, supplier relationships, supply continuity, and long-term partnership value — including with vendors from whom business has been moved. Build negotiation playbooks and own the commercial vendor scorecard (cost, terms, rebates, negotiated value); Category Management owns the performance scorecard. Own the RFP and Competitive Bid Process Design, run, and award all RFPs, RFQs, and competitive bid events across the enterprise. Establish RFP governance: category prioritization, event calendar, evaluation criteria, cross-functional scoring, and award documentation. Ensure Category Management requirements and sales-division needs are captured in every bid specification before an event launches. Track post-award implementation and compliance to captured savings. Set Enterprise Sourcing Strategy and Own Strategic Vendor Selection Own the strategic vendor selection decision. Category Management validates business need and provides category requirements; Sourcing selects, negotiates, and contracts. New vendor intake follows a single route: Sales divisions submit requests to Category Management, which validates the need and hands qualified requests to Sourcing for selection and negotiation. Evaluate the supplier portfolio to determine where TriMark should consolidate spend, diversify suppliers, renegotiate terms, rationalize vendor relationships, or pursue alternate sourcing. Reduce total landed cost, improve supplier economics, and mitigate sourcing risk. Own Private Label Development and Range Implementation End-to-End Own TriMark’s Private Label program end-to-end: sourcing strategy, supplier selection, cost negotiation, product development, and implementation of the range across the network. Execute to sell-price and margin targets set jointly by Category Management and Pricing; leverage Category Management’s reverse-engineering and should-cost analysis to hit target price points. Serve as a standing member of the joint PVT Brand Committee (Sourcing, Category Management, Marketing) that owns brand architecture: naming, tiers, and look/feel. Ensure Private Label launches are supported through vendor alignment, inventory planning, launch readiness, field communication, and performance monitoring. Track Private Label performance against margin, growth, service, and inventory objectives. Lead Pricing and Margin Strategy Lead enterprise pricing and margin strategy in partnership with the Pricing team: pricing architecture, category pricing guidance, promotional strategy, competitive positioning, margin optimization, and price elasticity analysis. Connect negotiated cost improvements directly to pricing actions so value is captured, not given away. Incorporate category and market input from Category Management into pricing decisions. Own Imports and Global Sourcing Own import programs and international supplier relationships in full: commercial terms, risk management, service expectations, and landed cost. Partner with Supply Chain and Operations so import strategies align with inventory planning, lead times, freight realities, and customer service expectations. Expand or optimize import sourcing where it improves margin and supply advantage without compromising execution. Negotiate, Audit, and Recover Supplier Income Negotiate all rebates, supplier income, and program funds; Finance tracks collection. Own the audit and recovery of negotiated supplier income, ensuring TriMark captures the full value of every agreement. Improve Inventory Outcomes Through Sourcing Alignment Align vendor terms, lead times, minimum order quantities, and sourcing strategies with TriMark’s inventory health, turns, fill rates, working capital, and obsolescence objectives. Support action plans to reduce excess and slow-moving inventory while protecting availability of strategic items. Represent TriMark with Buying Groups and Strategic Partners Serve as TriMark’s representative with buying groups, purchasing organizations, and strategic external supplier partners. Build external relationships that enhance TriMark’s access to programs, rebates, supplier leverage, and market intelligence. Translate buying group opportunities into actionable internal initiatives with measurable commercial benefit. Co-Own New Product Introduction and Attend All Vendor QBRs Serve as joint stage-gate owner (with Category Management) for new product introduction; sign off on cost and vendor feasibility at each gate. A launch proceeds only with both signatures. Attend all vendor QBRs run by Category Management to ensure commercial commitments, negotiated terms, and corrective actions carry through into vendor agreements. Build and Lead a High-Execution Sourcing Organization Build, lead, and develop a team of execution-focused sourcing, private label, and analytical resources; final team structure and resource split with Category Management is TBD pending organizational design. Establish a culture of urgency, accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence. Coach team members to become stronger negotiators and more commercially minded enterprise partners. Governance, Escalation, and Cross-Functional Execution Participate in the weekly Sourcing / Category Management alignment meeting and the monthly joint business review with the EVP. Follow the agreed escalation path: vendor selection disputes and Private Label conflicts unresolved between the two VPs escalate to the EVP within five business days. Ensure supplier changes, cost changes, and sourcing programs are communicated clearly and implemented across Sales, Pricing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations. Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred. 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in sourcing, procurement, supplier negotiations, merchandising, or related commercial functions. Demonstrated success leading complex supplier negotiations and RFP events with measurable financial impact. Experience in multi-site distribution, foodservice, hospitality, wholesale, retail, or similarly complex product environments. Experience leading Private Label programs, supplier portfolio strategy, and inventory-related sourcing decisions. Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced, execution-oriented environment. Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners. Preferred Experience in foodservice equipment, supplies, smallwares, disposables, or adjacent B2B distribution categories. Experience owning import programs and global sourcing relationships. Familiarity with buying groups, GPOs, or strategic supplier consortiums. Experience leading pricing or margin strategy in partnership with dedicated pricing teams. Compensation includes the posted base salary range and does not reflect potential commission, incentive, bonus, or other additional compensation opportunities, where applicable. Total compensation is determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related compensatory factors. In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark’s’ benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
