Job Title: Counsel/Non-Equity Partner Department/Group: Immigration Reports to: Partner, L&E Department Head FLSA Type: Exempt Years of Experience: 10+ years Office Attendance: Hybrid; Mandatory 3 days in office per week inclusive of Monday; schedule and additional days in office as required by the firm, Department Head or based on client needs. Compensation: $195-$230k; 1,800 billable minimum for bonus eligibility JOB SUMMARY We are seeking an experienced Partner to join our Immigration group. The Counsel/Partner will have substantial experience advising businesses and/or individuals on complex employment- based immigration matters. This role will be located in our New York office. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead and manage a caseload involving business and/or employment-based immigration matters Provide counsel and advise clients on immigration strategies, compliance and risk management Handle and oversee matters involving nonimmigrant and immigrant visa categories, including H1-B, L-1, E-2, EB-1, EB-2, EB-3, EB-5, PERM, adjustment of status, and related matters, as applicable Prepare, review and ensure the quality of immigration filings and petitions Stay current on changes in immigration law, regulations, policies, and adjudication trends QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York. 10+ years of experience of immigration law, with a strong background in business and/or employment-based matters. Strong legal research, analytical writing, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in legal research and case management software. Demonstrated ability to manage complex client matters. Exceptional attention to detail, judgment, professionalism, communication and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Client Service – Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client needs; Solicits client feedback to improve service; Responds to requests for service and assistance; Meets commitments. Dependability – Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Described below are the physical demands required by an employee in order to perform essential functions of this job successfully. WORK ENVIRONMENT In performing the duties here in employee is exposed to the below work environment conditions: A fast-paced environment determined by projects to be completed. Variances of noise and temperature. Possible stress and mental fatigue due to the speed of the office tasks. Continual periods where the employee is expected to sit for a long period of time when necessary. This position is a hybrid position based out of our New York office, with 3 days onsite (Monday is a mandatory onsite day). SALARY RANGE $195-$230k; 1,800 billable minimum for bonus eligibility.
