Job Summary The Credit Balance Specialist examines all credit balances before refunds or adjudications. They must comply with Billing and Coding Laws and the Baylor Scott & White Code and Ethical Conduct Policy. Essential Functions of the Role Accountable for all patient credit balances. Consistently works to ensure all credit balances are handled in a timely manner. Can figure out why an account has a credit balance with little or no supervision. Examines the patient account for posting errors before considering refund/adjudication. Searches for other related accounts before refunding private pay credit balances. Knows the Managed Care contracts and contractual adjustments. Ensures timely processing of credit balance paperwork and posting. Monitors and reports up to management any trends that are identified. QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
