The Credit Risk Analyst position will be part of the Head Office Financing Credit Analyst Risk team, which covers all major sectors for Europe such as Structured Credit (Project Finance, Global Trade, Leveraged Finance), Real Estate and Corporates. The Credit Risk team is considered the second line of defense at Natixis, and accordingly, the focus will be on the assessment and underwriting of the Credit Risk which is supported by the formulation of a written Risk Opinion, which may be presented to Credit Committees or to a Senior Delegatory. You play an active role in the implementation of new operations in interaction with the business lines. You will be proactively involved in the management and monitoring of risks, and credit risk transversal topics. Essential duties and responsibilities The Credit Analyst will be responsible for providing analysis for Europe counterparties of the sector she/he will be covering; the role will include, but will not be limited to: Carry out the contradictory analysis of grant files, one-off requests and renewals of credit lines. Engage constructively with the various business lines on risk points and the results of your analysis, asserting your position to make improvements to requests from a credit risk perspective. Present to Senior Management and Credit Committees when required. Conduct client due diligence calls; professionally represent the bank with clients. Recommend Credit terms and conditions within Trading Documentation (e.g. ISDA, MRA and MSLA’s). Perform proactive portfolio monitoring to anticipate any material deterioration in a counterparty's credit risk, with a Watch List if necessary. Ensure the proper use of our rating models and LGDs and make them evolve over time according to our back-testing and our evolution of the needs portfolios. Stay connected with industry trends and macro issues which may impact the portfolio; be able to recommend changes or action impacting specific clients or groups of clients. Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment that each of our counterparts operates in. The Credit Analyst should: Have a good knowledge of the basics of credit analysis and in particular the analysis of projections and structuring elements. Be familiar with due diligence and analysis requirements for counterparties. Be able to identify and concisely describe the potential risk(s) and positive attributes of each request, with the goal being to assess credit risk while supporting the business. Be proficient in MS Office products including extensive knowledge of MS Excel. Have excellent communication (written, oral and listening) and interpersonal skills. Skillful written communication is essential: the ability to convey thoughts clearly and succinctly and to communicate pertinent complex information in a clear and organized manner. Have strong analytical and critical thinking abilities. Be self-motivated with the ability to work independently while understanding when to involve other team members as needed and to work effectively in a team environment. Master’s Degree from an accredited university/college required in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other business-related discipline. At least 2/3 years of experience in corporate credit analysis, credit risk management, or financial analysis within a financial institution. Proficiency in MS Office products including extensive knowledge of MS Excel. Self-directed with the ability to learn quickly. High degree of integrity and strong work ethic. Knowledge of financial analysis, credit products and credit risk processes. Fluency in English is mandatory (C1 or C2). Fluency in French is appreciated but not mandatory.
