We are looking for a Cryptographic Systems & Security Engineer who thrives on understanding how cryptographic algorithms, network protocols, and software binaries interact across complex, multi-domain environments.
What you'll do:
• Build tools that discover and assess cryptographic implementations across networks, radios, and embedded devices.
• Evaluate implementations against evolving national and NATO/EU compliance standards.
• Work on European next-generation communication systems in defence & space.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Applied Cryptography: Solid grasp of applied cryptographic concepts (PKI, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, KEMs, digital signatures, key management).
• Network & Protocol Familiarity: Working knowledge of mainstream secure protocols (TLS, IPsec, MACsec, SSH) and network analysis tools (Wireshark, Scapy, PCAP parsing).
• Software Development: Strong practical proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• PQC Awareness: Familiarity with NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography standards (ML-KEM, ML-DSA) and awareness of PQC migration challenges.
• Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, system security, network traffic analysis, or applied cryptography.
• Languages: Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
• Work Authorization: Must have a valid work permit for the EU.
Desirable / Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with reverse engineering tools or binary analysis frameworks (e.g., Ghidra, IDA Pro, Binwalk).
• Exposure to AI/ML applications in network traffic analysis or anomaly detection.
• Understanding of permissioned blockchain / distributed ledger technology (DLT) for secure auditing.
• Background or strong interest in tactical C2 systems, satellite communications (SatCom), or RF environments.
• Knowledge of NATO, EU, or national cryptographic compliance guidelines and profiles.
