Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 12 months Work Set Up: Hybrid (3 days per week in office) Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Lead Cybersecurity Analytics Engineer to join the Cybersecurity Science & Analytics (CSA) Platform & Data Engineering Team. This is a mid-senior technical, hands-on delivery role requiring expertise across data engineering, cloud infrastructure and platform engineering, platform operations, and production support. What you will do: Ingest and provision raw datasets, enriched tables, and curated, reusable data assets to enable cybersecurity use cases. Drive improvements in the reliability and frequency of data ingestion, including increased real-time coverage. Support and enhance data ingestion infrastructure and pipelines. Design and implement data pipelines that collect data from disparate enterprise and external sources and deliver it to the data platform. Develop ETL workflows using advanced data manipulation tools and programmatic data processing techniques. Ensure data remains available at each stage of the data flow and is delivered in the required format for each system, service, and customer. Identify and onboard data sources using existing schemas and conduct exploratory data analysis where required to determine new schemas. Automate, productionise, and optimise data engineering pipelines. Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and ETL workflows across disparate datasets. Implement cloud-based data acquisition, data transport, and data cleaning processes. Curate datasets and data assets while supporting data modelling and cataloguing. Design and maintain database architecture and data integration solutions. Develop data warehousing and real-time analytics capabilities for large-scale datasets. Apply data engineering methods and technologies to cybersecurity use cases. Apply Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles to large-scale cloud infrastructure and platform operations. Develop scripts and applications using PowerShell, Terraform, Python, Windows command prompt, and object-oriented programming languages. Query data using SQL and Kusto Query Language. Manage software version control and CI/CD processes using tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps. Administer and script Linux environments, preferably Red Hat systems. Support cloud infrastructure across identity, networking, compute, storage, web, containers, and database services. Implement Infrastructure-as-Code and automation using Terraform, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager. Work with streaming platforms such as Azure Event Hubs or Kafka and stream processing technologies such as Spark Streaming. Support cloud cost optimisation and platform efficiency initiatives. Contribute to platform operations, production support, and technical troubleshooting. Collaborate with Principal Engineers and wider technology teams to deliver data engineering and platform capabilities. Support the development of the Cybersecurity Science & Analytics Team and contribute to sustainable technical decisions. Build strong relationships across business areas and international teams, encouraging collaboration, debate, and open discussion. Participate in programme boards, daily and weekly management reporting, and governance meetings. Bring strong hands-on experience in data engineering, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, platform operations, or a related technical discipline. Demonstrate experience with SRE principles, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, software version control, and cloud-based data pipelines. Demonstrate proficiency in programming and scripting using Python, PowerShell, C#, Java, Terraform, or similar technologies, with SQL and Kusto Query Language experience. Bring experience with Linux administration and scripting, preferably within Red Hat environments. Demonstrate experience designing, building, maintaining, automating, and optimising data pipelines and ETL workflows across disparate datasets. Bring strong knowledge of Azure cloud technologies, including Azure IAM, Azure Active Directory, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure Functions, Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure Compute, Azure Storage, Azure Data Lake Store, Synapse Analytics, and/or Power BI. Demonstrate experience with cloud and infrastructure technologies including Kubernetes, Nginx/Apache, CosmosDB, Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Bash, and PowerShell. Demonstrate experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager. Bring experience with streaming and big data technologies such as Azure Event Hubs, Kafka, and Spark Streaming. Demonstrate understanding of database architecture, data modelling, data warehousing, data integration, data cataloguing, and real-time analytics for large-scale datasets. Bring experience with SIEM and SOAR technologies, particularly cloud-based solutions, as an advantage. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field as an advantage. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with relevant data, technology, and/or programming experience as an alternative. Demonstrate relevant career experience and/or industry certifications in Cloud, Data, or Cybersecurity in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree where applicable. Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, passion for learning, and willingness to develop additional technical skills through certification and on-the-job learning. Bring experience operating within highly regulated industries, particularly Financial Services, as an advantage. Demonstrate understanding of cybersecurity principles, financial services business models, regional compliance regulations, and applicable laws as an advantage. Demonstrate knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and standards including OWASP, ISO2700x, PCI DSS, GLBA, global data security and privacy regulations, FFIEC, CIS, and NIST as an advantage.
