D365 CE Technical Consultant - Microsoft Partner
The opportunity
FERG Search is partnering with one of ANZ’s most respected Microsoft Business Applications partners to appoint a mid-level D365 CE Technical Consultant in New Zealand.
This is a hands-on technical consulting role working across Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, Dataverse and the Power Platform. You’ll support live customer environments while also delivering integrations, customisations, enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
The role suits someone who enjoys investigating technical problems, engaging directly with customers and taking ownership of solutions from initial analysis through to development, testing and deployment.
This position is specifically focused on Dynamics 365 CE/CRM rather than Business Central or Finance & Operations.
What you’ll be doing
• Design, configure, develop and deploy D365 CE and Power Platform solutions
• Build Dataverse customisations, plugins, workflows, custom APIs and web resources
• Develop Model-driven Apps, Canvas Apps, Power Automate flows and Power Pages
• Design and deliver integrations using APIs and Microsoft Azure services
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes and implement reliable fixes
• Deliver enhancements across existing and inherited customer solutions
• Translate requirements into practical technical designs and specifications
• Work alongside functional consultants, solution architects and customer stakeholders
• Support testing, releases, deployments and application lifecycle management
• Produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge with customers and colleagues
• Identify opportunities to improve performance, stability and customer outcomes
What we’re looking for
• At least three years’ experience working technically with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE/CRM
• Strong knowledge of Dataverse and the Microsoft Power Platform
• Experience with C#, .NET, JavaScript or TypeScript and Dynamics plugins
• Experience developing integrations using REST APIs, Web API or Azure services
• Understanding of solution management, deployment and ALM practices
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Confidence communicating with customers and translating technical concepts clearly
• The ability to manage priorities and take ownership without constant direction
Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Power Pages, PCF controls, Azure DevOps or data migration tools would be advantageous but is not essential.
Microsoft certifications and previous experience within a consulting partner or managed-services environment would also be valuable.
You do not need experience with every technology listed. Strong D365 CE and Dataverse foundations, technical problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership are the most important requirements.
What’s on offer
• Indicative NZ$130,000–NZ$155,000 base salary
• Flexible hybrid and remote working arrangements
• A high level of autonomy without micromanagement
• Varied technical work across multiple customer environments
• A combination of low-code and pro-code development
• Exposure to D365 CE, Power Platform, Dataverse and Azure
• Microsoft certification and professional development opportunities
• A collaborative and supportive consulting environment
• The backing of an established Microsoft partner operating across Australia, New Zealand and
Singapore
Applicants must have current New Zealand working rights.
