About The Role
We are seeking a full-time Junior Data Analyst to join our team and support a prominent Department of Homeland Security (DHS) client. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive research, performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and applying complex analytics techniques using tools such as Microsoft Excel and other analytical software. The Junior Data Analyst will review, analyze, and evaluate transportation asset processes and data to identify potential risks, track mitigation efforts, and support risk management initiatives. Additionally, the role involves providing scheduling and coordination support, developing and maintaining documentation including agendas, schedules, presentation decks, and meeting minutes. The candidate will participate in workgroup meetings and other organizational events critical to the mission, conducting risk assessments and contributing to strategic decision-making processes. This position offers the opportunity to work remotely with occasional office visits in Springfield, VA, and requires a candidate who is detail-oriented, analytical, and committed to supporting mission-critical objectives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, research, and analytical activities
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from an accredited college or university
- Secret security clearance (preferred)
- Must reside within a HUBZone
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Project, and other analytical tools
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule, including potential overtime to meet deadlines
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Ability to pass comprehensive background checks conducted by both the company and the client
Responsibilities
- Perform qualitative and quantitative research to support transportation risk assessments
- Analyze data to identify risks associated with transportation assets and develop mitigation strategies
- Review and evaluate processes, information, and data for accuracy and completeness
- Track and document mitigation status and provide status updates to stakeholders
- Develop, update, and maintain documentation such as agendas, schedules, presentation decks, and meeting minutes
- Participate in workgroup meetings, briefings, and other organizational events to support mission objectives
- Conduct risk assessments and support strategic planning efforts
- Coordinate scheduling and logistical support for meetings and project activities
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables
