Data Analyst/Engineer

Kwayga is an AI-powered platform designed to revolutionize supplier sourcing for supermarket buyers in the food and drink industry. It connects buyers with potential suppliers, using smart technology to streamline the process and improve efficiency. Kwayga aims to simplify the sourcing process by facilitating discovery, validation, and connection with suppliers through its AI sourcing tools.

We are looking for a data engineer, who also has a strong interest in data analytics. A solid background in Python is essential, as well as performing data analytics that will shape the future of our products. You will play a key role in developing and monitoring AI features, improving data pipelines, and ensuring our supplier sourcing tool delivers high-quality, reliable results.

• Collaborate with the business team to design and enhance AI features that provide value for our clients.
• Build, maintain, and optimize AI tools and data pipelines in Python.
• Monitor and evaluate the quality of output from our AI supplier-matching system, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Design and run tests/experiments to validate the efficiency of new AI features.
• Work on data acquisition pipelines to source new supplier data, including web crawling and integrations with 3rd-party tools/APIs.
• Conduct data analytics to identify areas where AI-driven tools can be improved.
• Support the scaling of data systems as the platform grows.
• Communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Solid background in data analytics, statistics, and model evaluation.
• Hands-on experience with data acquisition and integration (web crawling, APIs, or 3rd-party tools).
• Familiarity with AI/ML models and their deployment in real-world systems.
• Strong demonstrable proficiency in Python
• Demonstrable experience in using AI workflows for development and testing
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a startup environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

• Experience in procurement, supplier sourcing, or B2B marketplaces.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Familiarity with OpenAI, Gemini integrations
• Prior startup experience.
