Data Centre Electrical Design Manager - Ireland. (Remote WFH)

Help shape the electrical architecture behind the next generation of Data Centre and AI infrastructure across Southern Europe.

Our client is a major global power infrastructure business making serious, long-term investment in Data Centres. With growing capability across critical power, electrical distribution, modular infrastructure and advanced cooling, the business is building a genuine end-to-end proposition for hyperscale, colocation and AI-led developments. This is a highly visible, forward-facing role for an electrical engineering design leader who wants to influence projects early, work directly with major customers and remain close to the engineering design.

The opportunity

You will lead the electrical design scope of complex Data Centre projects from concept and detailed design through construction support, commissioning and closeout.

The role goes well beyond design coordination. You will help shape technical strategy, lead key engineering decisions and work with customers, consultants, contractors and internal specialists to develop resilient, efficient and scalable infrastructure.

You will:

• Lead electrical design across major Data Centre projects
• Own critical decisions involving MV, LV, transformers, UPS and standby generation
• Coordinate electrical engineers and specialist technical contributors
• Review and approve designs, calculations, reports and specifications
• Lead customer meetings, design reviews, optioneering and value engineering
• Support construction, installation and commissioning activities
• Improve design standards, engineering processes and technical quality
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the continued growth of the regional design function

What you will bring

You are likely to be working as a Data Centre Design Manager, Lead Electrical Engineer, Principal Electrical Engineer or Electrical Engineering Manager.

You will need:

• Strong electrical design experience within Data Centres or mission-critical infrastructure
• Experience leading projects through multiple design and delivery stages
• Detailed knowledge of MV/LV distribution, transformers, UPS and generators
• The ability to challenge, approve and take ownership of complex designs
• Experience coordinating engineers or multidisciplinary technical teams
• Confidence working directly with customers and senior project stakeholders
• Professional fluency in English.
• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Experience with cooling, BMS, energy management, AutoCAD, Revit or high-density AI infrastructure would be beneficial.
• Ability to travel across EMEA as required by client and project needs, with travel expected to be no more than 25%.
