About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer (m/w/d) SAS Base to join our dynamic team at SIGNAL IDUNA Bauspar AG. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our self-developed data warehouse, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and efficiency of our data infrastructure. Your expertise will support automated extraction, loading, and reporting processes utilizing Base SAS, contributing significantly to our data-driven decision-making culture. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a relevant university degree in computer science, information technology, or a comparable qualification such as a Fachinformatiker certification. A minimum of two years' professional experience in data warehousing and application development is essential. Proficiency in SAS programming and experience with data modeling and conceptual design are required. Familiarity with SQL-based database systems such as DB2 is also necessary. Knowledge of Linux, TSO, JCL, and TWS is advantageous, although not mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, a structured and result-oriented work approach, and excellent communication abilities in German. A proactive mindset, digital literacy, and the willingness to learn independently are highly valued traits for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate and continuously develop the company's proprietary data warehouse system to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Design, implement, and optimize automated data extraction, transformation, and loading processes using Base SAS to support reporting and analytics functions.
- Contribute to the conceptualization, development, and enhancement of data models and supporting tools to facilitate efficient data management.
- Perform detailed analyses based on business requirements using SAS Enterprise Guide, delivering insights and supporting strategic decisions.
- Provide ongoing consultation and support to various departments on data warehousing projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, system configurations, and development activities to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in data engineering, SAS technologies, and related tools, applying best practices to improve data quality and system robustness.
