As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining end-to-end data pipelines, modern data warehouses, and structured lakehouses. You will lead complex data migration initiatives, optimize legacy workflows, and ensure high reliability, performance, and accessibility across all data products.

• Salary: Up to RM 15,000 per month
• Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days in PJ office / 1 day WFH)

3) About the Team

You will be joining an agile, collaborative Data & AI squad comprising Data Engineers, Data Architects, and Business Intelligence Analysts. The team emphasizes hands-on execution, analytical rigor, and knowledge-sharing in a supportive tech ecosystem.6) Qualifications7) Key Skills & Responsibilities

• Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, and Database Administration.
• Strong, demonstrated track record in planning, executing, and optimizing enterprise Data Migration projects.
• Proven experience in dimensional modeling and building production-grade Data Warehouses using industry best practices.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline Development: Design, build, and optimize automated ETL/ELT data pipelines to ingest, process, and clean data from disparate sources into centralized repositories.
• Architecture Implementation: Build and organize data layers following the Medallion Architecture framework (Bronze, Silver, Gold) to support clean operational and analytical data consumption.
• Data Migration: Execute data migration strategies from legacy systems/databases to modernized cloud-based environments with minimal downtime and data loss.
• Data Modeling: Construct efficient Star Schema and Snowflake data models optimized for business intelligence, reporting, and ad-hoc analytical workloads.
• Optimization & Performance Tuning: Write and refine complex SQL queries and Python scripts to improve performance, query efficiency, and pipeline throughput.
• Governance & Data Quality: Establish automated validation checks, error handling, logging, and monitoring systems to ensure high levels of data accuracy, integrity, and security.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with Data Analysts, BI Developers, and business units to translate business requirements into scalable, technical data specifications.
  
  

Must-Have

Key Skills Required:

• Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for pipeline development, scripting, and data transformations.
• Core Frameworks: In-depth working knowledge of Star Schema Modeling and Medallion Architecture standards.
• ETL & Migration: Deep experience with modern ETL/ELT tooling, data orchestration, and cloud migration frameworks.
  
  

Nice-to-Have

• Language Proficiency: Conversational or fluent Mandarin (written and spoken) to liaise directly with regional stakeholders, teams, or vendors who communicate primarily in Mandarin.
• Oracle Stack: Hands-on experience with Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) systems.
