Data Engineer III itD is seeking a Data Engineer III to design, build, and optimize scalable data infrastructure that enables reliable analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in data engineering, ETL/ELT development, and data modeling, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality data pipelines, production-ready datasets, and scalable analytics solutions in fast-paced environments. Location: Remote (U.S.). Candidates located in the Bay Area, Seattle, or New York City are also welcome. Please note that contractors may be required to transition to a hybrid onsite model if offices fully reopen. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives. Build and maintain dashboards, reporting solutions, and production-ready datasets that enable self-service analytics. Develop and optimize SQL queries, data models, and warehouse structures to improve performance, scalability, and data quality. Partner with Data Scientists, Product Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to validate metrics, ensure data integrity, and support analytical initiatives. Monitor data pipeline health, troubleshoot production issues, implement alerting, and maintain service-level expectations. Create and maintain well-documented data assets, including data models, pipeline documentation, and operational processes. Support ad hoc data requests while continuously improving data architecture, reporting capabilities, and engineering best practices. Internal Responsibilities Attend regular internal practice community meetings. Collaborate with your itD practice team on industry thought leadership. Complete client case studies and learning material (blogs, media material). Build out material to contribute to the Digital Transformation practice. Attend internal itD networking events (in person and virtual). Work with leadership on career fast-track opportunities. Required Qualifications and Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a related role. Strong proficiency in SQL (Presto, Hive, SparkSQL). Experience developing and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Airflow or similar platforms. Proficiency with Python or a comparable scripting language. Experience with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and production data architecture. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and data quality management skills. Preferred Qualifications and Skills 5+ years of experience in data engineering. Experience with large-scale distributed data processing frameworks such as Apache Spark or Hadoop . Experience building dashboards and visualizations using Tableau or similar BI tools. Experience with logging, monitoring, and instrumentation frameworks. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Mercurial . Experience working in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Previous experience at Meta or another large technology company. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field required.
