Infinite Services is looking for an experienced
Data Governance Consultant to support a strategic data transformation project for a large Polish organization.
We are looking for a senior IT professional who combines
strong organizational and consulting experience with a solid understanding of Data Governance, Data Management and data-related processes.
This role is particularly suited to someone who has spent many years working in IT, data, technology, product, service or security-related environments and has developed significant experience in
Data Governance, data management or establishing processes around data.
You will be expected not only to provide recommendations, but to
help the organization build a practical Data Governance model from the ground up, establish ownership and accountability, improve decision-making processes and build support for Data Governance at senior management level.
Your Responsibilities
- Assess the organization's current approach to data management and identify key governance gaps, risks and improvement opportunities.
- Design and help implement a practical Data Governance operating model tailored to the organization's business and organizational structure.
- Develop a Data Governance strategy and roadmap, taking into account the organization's current maturity, business priorities and internal constraints.
- Define and establish key governance processes, including:
- data ownership and accountability,
- roles and responsibilities,
- data requirements and demand management,
- decision-making and escalation paths,
- prioritization and budgeting,
- stakeholder engagement and communication.
- Help establish clear ownership and accountability for data, data products and analytical solutions.
- Review existing ways of working and identify opportunities to improve how data-related initiatives are initiated, prioritized, funded and delivered.
- Identify and flag data, information security and governance risks and recommend appropriate improvements.
- Work closely with business, data, IT, security and management stakeholders to build alignment and ownership.
- Develop and communicate a strong business case for Data Governance, demonstrating its value to the organization.
- Support the client in building visibility and organizational support for the data function, including communication with senior management and executive stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted Data Governance subject-matter expert and advisor, providing practical recommendations and challenging existing approaches when necessary.
- Help establish foundations that will allow Data Governance to become a sustainable part of the organization's operating model.
What We Are Looking For
- 8+ years of professional experience in IT, data, technology or related areas, gained in complex organizational environments.
- Significant practical experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Strategy or related data-focused areas.
- Experience in designing, implementing or improving Data Governance processes, operating models or frameworks.
- A proven track record of hands-on implementation and delivery — not exclusively advisory or strategy work.
- Strong understanding of organizational processes, operating models, roles and responsibilities, ownership and accountability.
- Experience working with data organizations, data platforms, BI environments, data products or analytical solutions.
- Understanding of information security, data security, risk or compliance-related topics.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working with senior management.
- Excellent consulting and communication skills, with the ability to operate as an independent expert and trusted advisor.
- Ability to navigate complex organizational structures, understand different stakeholder perspectives and build support for change.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking combined with a practical, hands-on approach.
- Ability to translate Data Governance concepts into concrete processes, responsibilities and business outcomes.
- Fluent Polish and English.
