DATA GOVERNANCE SPECIALIST M/F Your mission Are you passionate about Data Governance, Data Management and the protection of critical data? This position is for you. As a Data Governance Specialist , you will be responsible for defining, implementing and maintaining a pragmatic data governance framework, while supporting compliance requirements related to the management and protection of critical data. Build side Inventory, map and classify critical data, including their flows and dependencies. Define data governance policies, standards and procedures. Define protection requirements for critical data according to their classification level. Define and support the implementation of data access rules based on business needs and the principle of least privilege. Define governance roles, responsibilities and processes. Support the implementation of Data Quality, metadata management, Master Data Management, Data Lineage and Data Modelling practices. Contribute to the selection, deployment and adoption of Data Governance and Metadata Management tools. Integrate Data Governance principles into business and Data initiatives. Contribute to awareness and adoption initiatives related to data management and protection. Run side Ensure the implementation and application of governance measures related to critical data. Support the control and review of access to critical data. Collaborate with Data, IT and business stakeholders on data governance activities. Support the implementation of security, backup and restoration measures for critical data. Maintain Data Governance documentation, standards and governance processes. Train and raise awareness among stakeholders regarding data management and protection best practices. Support change management activities related to Data Governance adoption. Align and coordinate internal stakeholders around Data Governance initiatives. Your background You have at least 7 years of significant experience in Data Governance and Data Quality . You have a strong understanding of Data Management methodologies and technologies and can collaborate effectively with Data Management, IT and business teams. Experience in regulated environments such as finance, healthcare or the public sector is considered an asset. Your expertise Data Governance Data Management Data Quality DAMA-DMBOK or equivalent Data Governance frameworks Critical Data identification, classification and mapping Data flows and dependencies Metadata Management Master Data Management (MDM) Data Lineage Data Modelling Data Governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica or OvalEdge Documentation and presentation Roadmap definition and implementation Change Management Stakeholder Management Data protection and access management principles Understanding of Data methodologies and technologies Nice to have Knowledge of NIS2 regulation. Knowledge of standards and regulations such as ISO/IEC 38505, ISO 8000 and GDPR. Knowledge of Data Modelling using UML. Knowledge of Data Flow Modelling using ArchiMate. Experience in regulated industries. Languages English: Professional working proficiency Dutch or French: Native or bilingual proficiency Your way of working Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to explain complex methodologies in simple terms. Strong leadership skills. Autonomous and quick learner. Ability to build an internal network and align different stakeholders.
