Artificial Intelligence – including AI systems, AI agents and a fast-growing portfolio of AI use cases – is now being adopted at scale across the organisation. Because this AI functionality is powered by large volumes of data, including personal data, the intersection of AI governance and data protection has become one of the most critical and dynamic areas of our compliance agenda. In your role as a Data Privacy & AI Compliance Support Consultant , you will be part of a small, collaborative team of privacy and AI professionals supporting Syngenta Group. You will help our internal clients navigate both established data privacy obligations and emerging AI compliance requirements, working extensively with the OneTrust platform & a planned new AI governance platform. You will play a significant role in helping Syngenta ensure responsible, compliant adoption of AI while protecting personal information. Accountabilities: AI Compliance (with data protection intersection): Contribute to the implementation and adoption of a new AI governance tool /module that will operate complimentary to OneTrust. Support the review of AI legal risk assessments , identifying and helping mitigate risks where AI processing involves personal data. Assist with AI asset assessments and reviews , ensuring AI systems, agents and use cases are captured, evaluated and governed appropriately. Contribute to AI vendor qualification and due diligence , particularly where third-party AI solutions process or are trained on personal or sensitive data. Advise internal clients on appropriate AI guardrails – both technical and organisational – to enable safe and compliant AI adoption. Help develop and deliver training, awareness, policy and guidance on responsible AI and its data protection implications. Support the operationalisation of AI governance workflows and assessments within OneTrust. Core Data Privacy Support: Contribute to the implementation and ongoing use of the OneTrust tool across the various jurisdictions of Syngenta Group, including organising and facilitating internal interviews with representatives of various functional teams. Assist with data mapping, privacy assessments and investigations of the organisation's data processing activities as part of the "sustain and maintain" of the OneTrust data protection management system. Provide customer support for internal clients in functions such as IT, HR, Marketing etc. to ensure data protection controls are integrated into the organisation's supporting systems. Assist in streamlining Syngenta's Vendor Risk Assessment process, increasingly extending this to AI-enabled vendors and solutions. Monitor and respond to data privacy and AI compliance queries, including questions related to the use of the OneTrust tool. Collaborate with Syngenta's Global Data Protection Office to monitor compliance with data privacy laws and guidelines, ensuring privacy and AI-related risks are identified and mitigated. Assist in assessing the impact of new regulations – including evolving AI legislation (e.g. the EU AI Act) and data protection law – and help develop compliance strategies, such as updating and implementing relevant assessments in OneTrust. Assist with incident management and response for potential privacy and AI-related incidents. Stay informed and help educate the organisation to raise awareness of the importance of data privacy and responsible AI, e.g. curating content for and distributing our Data Privacy & AI newsletter. Assist with developing policies, guidelines, training material and training delivery to keep the organisation compliant with data privacy and AI rules and regulations. A great fit is an individual who: Is an enthusiastic customer support professional with a passion for data privacy and emerging AI compliance , and is willing to develop and specialise in these fast-evolving areas. Has a genuine interest in AI systems, AI agents and their governance , and understands (or is eager to learn) how AI and data protection requirements intersect. Has a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in leading or participating in tool or process implementation, or a background in advisory/consulting. Has project management skills. Is proactive in problem-solving and experienced in query resolution in support of customers/clients. Is open to obtaining, or already holds, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or an emerging AI governance certification (e.g. AIGP) . Has experience in process mapping and supporting data privacy impact assessments, and an interest in extending this to AI risk and impact assessments . Has excellent communication skills to lead/moderate meetings with internal stakeholders. Works well across functions and cultures at all levels, internally and externally. Has excellent time management and organisational skills. Thrives in a multicultural, collaborative team environment. Has a dynamic, autonomous and flexible personality with a strong interest in evolving technologies – particularly AI – and the new compliance challenges they bring. Prior knowledge of GDPR, familiarity with OneTrust or equivalent data protection management systems, awareness of emerging AI regulation (such as the EU AI Act) is essential; possession of qualifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or AIGP are advantageous but not essential prerequisites for this role.
