About the Opportunity

This opportunity is for experienced Data Scientists interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. The role focuses on evaluating how effectively AI systems perform real-world data science work.

Rather than building data science deliverables yourself, you will apply your expertise to define evaluation standards, develop task-specific grading criteria, and assess completed work samples using rigorous, evidence-based judgment.

Responsibilities

• Design precise, task-specific evaluation criteria for real-world data science deliverables, including data analyses, machine learning models, dashboards, experiment readouts, and business recommendations.
• Evaluate and score AI-generated and human-created work samples against established evaluation criteria.
• Provide detailed written justifications explaining the rationale behind each evaluation and score.
• Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to ensure evaluations are accurate, reproducible, and defensible.
• Assess analytical methodologies, statistical reasoning, model quality, data visualization, and business impact.
• Incorporate structured feedback from senior reviewers and continuously refine evaluation standards.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Data Science experience in an industry setting.
• Experience in Business, Product, Growth, or Applied Data Science at leading technology companies or equivalent organizations.
• Strong expertise in:
• Experiment Design and A/B Testing
• Statistical Analysis
• SQL and Python
• Machine Learning
• Metric Definition and Performance Measurement
• Data Visualization and Dashboard Development
• Ability to communicate complex analytical findings to executive and business stakeholders.
• Exceptional written communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and professional judgment.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience reviewing analytical work or mentoring data scientists.
• Experience evaluating machine learning models and data science deliverables.
• Prior experience with AI training, model evaluation, or human-feedback projects.
• Experience across multiple business domains, including product analytics, growth, operations, or experimentation.

Compensation

• Competitive compensation of $120–$170/hour.
