The Role The team Data Science and Research (DSR) at Etraveli Group consists of Data Scientists, ML Engineers, MLOps, and Data Engineers. The team operates across a wide spectrum of business functions ranging from content optimisation and revenue estimation, to ticket pricing, ancillary products and fraud detection. To implement new state-of-the-art products and consolidate our existing solutions the team is growing, and as our new Data Scientist you will have the opportunity to work with large-scale data sets and high-performance applications capable of processing billions of records every day. This is a challenging environment, where you will get to work with cutting edge ML technology used in production to support core business decisions and deliver the highest value to our customers. Responsibilities Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems, optimize processes, and improve existing production solutions. Mine, analyze, and visualize large-scale datasets to identify trends and patterns, and translate these insights into concrete business actions. Work within high-performance applications capable of processing and handling billions of records every day. Explore a diverse and evolving range of business functions, developing a deep understanding of new domains to identify where machine learning can drive growth. Combine data from disparate sources, cleaning, preprocessing, and transforming it to ensure high accuracy and data integrity. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to define project objectives, data requirements, and clear definition-of-done criteria. Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure your models are successfully deployed into production. You can also have the opportunity to: Together with Machine Learning, Data, and MLOps Engineers implement the models into our services according to our development standards. Interpret and communicate findings to both technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders through reports, presentations and visualizations. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and techniques in data science and apply them to enhance our data-driven capabilities. Requirements University degree in a STEM discipline 2-3 years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role in a corporate or research environment Strong math skills (e.g. statistics, algebra) Proficiency in Python Experience with statistical analysis, data mining, and data visualization libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib) Skilled in developing and deploying machine learning models utilizing core frameworks, including Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch Familiarity with SQL and database querying for data extraction and manipulation. Understanding of time series forecasting techniques is a plus Excellent command of spoken and written English Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and ability to navigate large codebases Exposure to ML orchestration and model management (e.g., Airflow, MLflow) Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-powered productivity tools (e.g., coding assistants, automation workflows) to accelerate personal tasks and enhance individual efficiency Benefits We are looking for people who would make the world smaller for travelers but want a bigger world of opportunities for themselves.
