Your Role

As a Data Scientist, you are responsible for:

• Data Strategy & Architecture
• Develop and maintain scalable data models and structures.
• Support the evolution toward a modern data stack and unified reporting framework.
• Forecasting & Predictive Modelling
• Own forecasting capability across consignments, weight, cube, and volumes.
• Maintain and enhance existing models (Holt-Winters) and support progression toward machine learning models.
• Ensure forecasting outputs are accurate, reliable, and continuously improved.
• Reporting & Dashboarding
• Develop and maintain dashboards (e.g., Power BI) across key business areas.
• Standardise reporting outputs and eliminate duplication or inconsistency.
• Deliver insights on key metrics such as fleet performance, DIFOT, utilisation, lane, and customer performance.
• Data Quality & Governance
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems.
• Identify gaps in datasets and work with the business to improve data capture.
• Business Insights & Decision Support
• Translate data into actionable insights for leadership and operational teams.
• Support strategic initiatives through data-led recommendations.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
• Work closely with the Business Analyst to deliver data requirements for projects.
• Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
• Translate complex data into clear and compelling narratives that inform operational and strategic decision-making.
• Identify trends, patterns, and root causes to uncover actionable insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand analytical needs and deliver tailored reporting solutions.
• Design and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
• Recommend enhancements to reporting frameworks and data processes.
• Ensure data integrity and contribute to data governance initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Preferably with 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, data strategy & architecture, cost modelling, and reporting.
• Knowledgeable in Cloud applications, DataBricks, Snowflake.
• Practical experience with forecasting techniques and statistical models.
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI) and data querying (SQL, R, Python, or similar).
• Proven experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or reporting roles.
• Proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
