For a digital transformation project within an Austrian public-sector organisation, we are looking for an experienced Data Scientist / Consultant with strong expertise in Python development, databases, data engineering, and AI-based solutions.

Work model: Primarily remote; occasional onsite presence is an advantage

Start: Mid-August

What you will do

You will join an agile team and contribute to the design, development, and deployment of data-driven and AI-based solutions. The role combines hands-on technical delivery with consulting and close cooperation with business stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing, maintaining, and improving ETL pipelines

• Preparing and providing data for analytics and reporting

• Supporting the development and expansion of a data warehouse

• Developing solutions using Python, Oracle DB, and PostgreSQL

• Processing, transforming, and integrating large data volumes

• Evaluating suitable AI and machine learning methods

• Designing, training, and implementing AI models

• Developing and integrating AI-based solutions

• Testing, documenting, deploying, and maintaining solutions

• Advising stakeholders on AI and data-related topics

• Working collaboratively within an agile, interdisciplinary team

Must-have skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Python

• Very good knowledge of Oracle Database and PostgreSQL

• Practical experience with PyTorch, PySpark, and Pandas

• Experience with ETL pipelines and data warehouse environments

• Good knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with GitHub, GitLab, and Jenkins

• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines

• Experience with cloud platforms and modern deployment processes

• Strong German language skills
