As a Data Support Analyst, you will help bridge the gap between financial reporting needs and the technical systems that provide the numbers. This role supports our engagement with a major international manufacturing group, ensuring their financial data remains accurate and accessible throughout their reporting cycles. This is a permanent, full-time position that is performed fully remote.
About Alpine Business Consulting Alpine Business Consulting works at the intersection of finance processes and the systems that support them. We specialize in Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) and analytics, helping finance teams fix platforms that never delivered on their promises. While we build new systems from scratch, much of our work involves remediating existing setups in Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and Power BI. We focus on the numbers side of the house, ensuring that consolidation rules, intercompany eliminations, and reporting pipelines reflect how a finance team actually operates. Our approach moves away from typical implementation theatre. We prioritize finance-first configurations and fixed-price engagements, giving our clients certainty before any work begins. We do not believe in keeping clients dependent on us. Instead, we build administrator training and documentation into every project so teams can run their systems independently after go-live. We are a remote-first team of consultants who understand that a dashboard is only useful if the data is accurate to the cent and available the morning a period closes. Whether it is a cloud migration or a complex forecasting model, we value precision over presentation.
What You Will Do
Assisting with the mapping and loading of financial data from ERP systems into EPM platforms.
Performing regular data reconciliation to ensure that reports match the underlying source systems to the cent.
Updating system documentation and user guides to reflect changes in consolidation rules or reporting structures.
Troubleshooting basic data discrepancies reported by client finance teams during the month-end close process.
Building and testing simple reports in Power BI or Excel based on specific requirements from the project lead.
Participating in remote meetings to understand technical requirements and document system logic.
Validating metadata updates such as new cost centers or legal entities within the system hierarchy.
Reviewing data logs to identify errors in automated data pipelines and suggesting corrections.
What We Are Looking For
A foundational understanding of accounting or finance principles, such as knowing how a balance sheet and P&L connect.
High level of comfort with Excel, specifically using formulas to compare and clean large datasets.
General technical curiosity and an interest in how software supports business decision-making.
Strong attention to detail, as missing a single decimal point is a significant issue in financial reporting.
The ability to communicate clearly in a remote environment through written documentation and video calls.
Basic exposure to data tools or databases is helpful, though we will provide training on the specific platforms we use.
A practical approach to problem solving and a willingness to ask questions when data looks incorrect.
The ability to manage tasks independently while working as part of a distributed team.
What We Offer
A fully remote working environment that prioritizes focus and output over office presence.
The opportunity to learn Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems which are highly valued in the finance sector.
Exposure to real-world financial remediation projects for a major international organization.
A competitive and attractive salary for an entry-level position within the consulting market.
Professional growth through direct mentorship from consultants who value precision and technical honesty.
A workplace culture that avoids corporate jargon and focuses on delivering tangible results.
Consistent working hours and the predictability of a fixed-price project model.
A structured environment where your contributions directly improve the accuracy of client financial reporting.
How We Work Alpine Business Consulting operates on a foundation of transparency and technical honesty. We do not use complex language to hide system flaws: we find the root cause and fix it. Our remote-first model allows us to work efficiently without the distractions of traditional office culture. We focus on scoped deliverables and fixed prices, which means our goals are always aligned with the client needs. By the time a project concludes, we ensure the client is fully equipped to handle their own systems. We value candidates who take pride in the accuracy of their work and understand that in finance, there is no room for approximations. Every number must be verified and every process must be documented so it can be repeated reliably.
