The Opportunity As a Distribution Centre Stock Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of inventory operations within our fast-paced Distribution Centre. Reporting to the Senior Stock Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring stock movements, maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting cycle counts and stocktakes, and ensuring inventory management processes are executed effectively. Working closely with Distribution Centre teams and key stakeholders across the business, you'll help drive inventory accuracy, identify opportunities for process improvement, and contribute to the smooth flow of stock across our multi-channel retail operation. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts, reconciliations, and system updates. Complete cycle counts and stock take activities, ensuring all counts are completed accurately, in full, and on schedule. Investigate stock discrepancies and implement corrective actions to maintain inventory integrity. Monitor stock locations and storage utilisation to ensure products are stored safely and efficiently. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with inventory management procedures and operational standards. Support inventory planning activities by providing accurate stock data and maintaining inventory management systems. Collaborate with Distribution Centre, IT, Buying, Merchandising, and Store teams to resolve inventory-related issues. Provide guidance and support to team members on inventory management processes and best practices. Identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and stock control processes. Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all WHS policies and procedures. What we’re Looking For To be successful in this role, you will bring: Previous experience in a Stock Control, Inventory Control, or Distribution Centre role, ideally within a retail, eCommerce, FMCG, or multi-channel environment. Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or other inventory management platforms. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with confidence managing, analysing, and reconciling inventory data. Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all aspects of inventory management. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams. A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment. A continuous improvement mindset and a willingness to identify opportunities to improve processes and operational effectiveness.
