DeltaV Documentation Specialist 1716

SimoTech is seeking a DeltaV Documentation Specialist for a pharmaceutical client in Co. Cork. This role focuses on DeltaV system documentation, code review, and standardisation activities, working to develop and implement consistency throughout.

The position involves as-building existing DeltaV configurations, developing documentation standards, and preparing high-quality lifecycle documentation for current and future projects. As part of ongoing responsibilities, you will establish sustainable documentation frameworks and leverage emerging AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency. This is a primarily remote role (approx. one day per week on site), offering flexibility while maintaining visibility and alignment with project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and validate automation design documentation against existing DeltaV system configurations.
• Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for documentation standardisation across multiple production facilities.
• Establish and own automation documentation standards, ensuring alignment with regulatory and operational expectations.
• Collaborate with Automation, CSV, and Project Engineering to ensure lifecycle compliance in all deliverables.
• Support future project documentation, including developing templates, naming conventions, and coding standards.
• Leverage AI-based tools for document review, drafting, and compliance checks to improve efficiency.
• Recommend continuous improvements to document management and validation processes.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, IT, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of automation system lifecycle and validation principles, including CSV documentation requirements.
• Proven experience reviewing and improving technical documentation against live system configurations.
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach to documentation governance.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills in English.
• Familiarity with AI tools or automation technologies is an advantage.
• Capable of working independently.
• Previous experience in documentation standardisation initiatives or framework development.
• Knowledge of GAMP5, GMP compliance, and change control practices.
• Experience supporting migrations or standardisation projects across multiple plants.
