Deployment Lead

THE ROLE: SENIOR DEPLOYMENT LEAD NexGen Cloud's GPU data centre build pipeline is expanding, and right now there is no single owner taking a site from delivered hardware through to a live, production-ready cluster. This role exists to give the deployment function a dedicated, senior owner before the pipeline outgrows the current ad hoc approach — you'll have direct ownership over deployment planning and scheduling, on-site build execution, contractor management, and commissioning and handover for every new GPU site NexGen brings online. This is a role for someone who wants to build a function from scratch rather than inherit someone else's playbook — hands-on, genuinely global, and with real decision-making authority as the most senior person on-site. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Rather than a long checklist, here's what success in this role looks like: Own the end-to-end deployment plan, schedule, and risk register for each new GPU data centre build, from hardware delivery through to production handover Lead on-site racking, cabling, and installation of GPU servers, networking, and power/cooling infrastructure, directing contractor crews where used Run commissioning and acceptance testing on newly built GPU clusters, and define go-live acceptance criteria in coordination with Network Engineering and Data Centre Operations Manage day-to-day performance of on-site electrical, mechanical, and cabling contractors against schedule, quality, and safety standards Act as the on-the-ground point of contact for Network Engineering during cutover, and keep Sales and Customer Success informed on go-live timelines Build the discipline that doesn't yet exist: a live risk register per deployment, and a standard playbook that improves with every build Feed deployment status and risk updates to the Chief Infrastructure Officer on a regular, owned cadence ABOUT YOU We're more interested in how you think and work than in a perfect CV.
