Salary: $65,500.00 Annually Responsibilities Work with Comms Director to carry out the organization’s national comms strategy with a focus on design Create or coordinate designs for social media, emails, toolkits, and other external and internal communications Create or coordinate design kits for the national organization, campaigns and projects, and committees, as well as templates for chapters Create or coordinate graphics for dues and fundraising drives, virtual and in-person national events, and design assets for videos Work with DSA chapters and committees to assist with their design needs Maintain graphic and web design on the DSA website Support merch design coordination for the DSA store and ordering and maintaining the store backend Assist with print design and ordering printed materials Maintain national brand design standards Work with Comms staff on social media posting, rapid response, and event support as needed Perform other duties which may arise based on the needs of the organization Qualifications At least 3 years in a position in comms, preferably with a left organization or union and on a national level Experience producing design at a professional level and delivering on deadline Demonstrated knowledge, experience and self-motivation working on a comprehensive comms strategy with staff and volunteers or members Ability to work effectively with member leaders from varying political viewpoints underneath DSA’s big tent Creativity to produce exciting and interesting content and ability to propose thoughtful and unique communication strategies and projects to national leadership Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a non-traditional leadership structure, adapting to changing political conditions and organizational needs High level of accountability, responsibility, and dependability Experience writing and pitching media advisories and press releases Ability to travel on occasion Commitment to democratic socialist, feminist, anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-heterosexist and pro-worker action, and identify as a socialist and be grounded in democratic socialist politics; general agreement with the positions and perspectives of DSA Multilingual candidates encouraged, especially Spanish Experience working in a membership-led organization and/or with member leaders that direct the work (preferred) Reports to: Communications Director Work Schedule: Full-time Location: Remote Salary: $65,500 Benefits: Union position. We offer employer paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their spouse/partner and/or dependent children, and three weeks of vacation in the first year of employment, then four weeks each year thereafter.
