Position Summary The Distribution Designer I is an entry-level role responsible for supporting the design and development of electric distribution projects. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and designers, this position assists in producing construction-ready designs for overhead and underground systems in a fast-paced, standards-driven environment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to build foundational knowledge in utility distribution design, develop technical skills, and gain exposure to real-world infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Assist in the design of overhead and underground electric distribution systems (typically 4kV–35kV) Support preparation of construction work packages, including staking sheets, bills of material, and design drawings Utilize design and mapping tools (e.g., GIS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar platforms) to develop and update system designs Interpret and apply client standards, engineering guidelines, and basic NESC requirements Perform basic calculations, including load estimates and material quantities Conduct field visits to collect data, verify existing conditions, and support design validation Collaborate with engineers, designers, and field personnel to ensure accurate and constructible designs Assist with permitting documentation, easement exhibits, and right-of-way coordination Maintain accurate project records and documentation in client systems Identify and escalate design issues or discrepancies to senior team members Qualifications Required: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) 0–2 years of experience in utility design, construction, or a related field Basic understanding of electric distribution systems or willingness to learn Familiarity with CAD or GIS tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar) is a plus Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established standards and processes Good organizational and time management skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Preferred: Internship or prior exposure to utility, construction, or engineering environments Knowledge of overhead and underground distribution components Exposure to safety standards and utility work practices Work Environment & Expectations Combination of office and field work, including site visits in varying terrain and environmental conditions Ability to work in a structured, high-volume production environment Willingness to learn client standards, tools, and workflows Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement Why Join Integrity PSC?
