The Development Officer supports the Regional Director, Brant & Haldimand-Norfolk in the execution of fundraising activities for the annual United Way Golden Horseshoe campaign. This role plays a key role in coordinating donor engagement and stewardship activities, supporting volunteers, and delivering campaign initiatives with a primary focus on Brant, Haldimand–Norfolk, while also supporting donor and account needs across the Golden Horseshoe. The Development Officer works closely with internal teams and community partners to help maintain strong donor relationships and a positive campaign experience across the Golden Horseshoe. Responsibilities: Develop and execute fundraising strategies across workplace campaigns, corporate partnerships and individual donors, supporting regional and organization-wide revenue targets Support business development efforts to identify, secure and grow new workplace and corporate partnerships, expanding United Way’s reach and revenue base Support volunteers, workplace accounts, donors and partners in the delivery of campaign activities across Brant, Haldimand–Norfolk and, as needed, the broader Golden Horseshoe Strengthen donors’ understanding of United Way’s mission and community impact through personalized correspondence, stewardship touchpoints, and in-person or virtual meetings Manage and advance a pipeline of prospective donors and partners using CRM and digital tools and prospect research to inform outreach, prioritization and engagement planning Track progress against fundraising targets, analyze donor and campaign performance data, and recommend adjustments to improve results and donor experience Coordinate and prepare timely, accurate and personalized donor communications, including acknowledgements, receipts and other stewardship materials Ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor records by maintaining timely gift tracking and data entry within the donor management system Identify and implement improvements to CRM processes and donor workflows to enhance efficiency, consistency and overall service quality Qualifications: Minimum 3 years’ experience in fundraising, account management, sales, or partnership development Demonstrated ability to manage relationships and pursue new opportunities Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills Comfort initiating outreach and engaging prospective partners Excellent stakeholder relationship capabilities Ability to analyze information and apply insights into decision-making Experience using CRM systems United Way Golden Horseshoe strives to foster a workplace that reflects the diversity of the community it serves and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.
