DevOps Engineer (AWS)

We operate in nearly 30 countries in the world, hiring more than 55,000 employees. The Polish branch, as the Global Delivery Center, operates in Katowice since 2007 and has been growing ever since. Currently, our team consists of around 1,000 specialists. Within the Digital Platform Services department, our teams specialize in areas such as cloud, operating systems, virtualization, databases, backup or storage, as well as networking and security. We also have 1st line support consultants who speak French and English, but also Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German. The Application Services department is responsible for areas such as software development, data engineering, testing services, CRM, ITSM and ERP platform integrations, as well as application management for customers in Scandinavia, Benelux, France, Germany, Switzerland and the UK. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer (AWS) to join Sopra Steria Polska and one of our innovative international squads. You will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization our Cloud Development tools & Development environment offer. This team is responsible for implementing, maintaining and supporting the Developer’ tools and development environment used by the organization. Note that we can only offer cooperation to people who are located in Poland and have EU citizenship. Responsibilities:​ Collaborate with team members to write efficient, reusable, and maintainable code. You show code ownership through team code reviews, SonarQube quality checks and implementation of Cosmos best practices. Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing services by identifying opportunities for optimization. Write unit tests and integration tests where necessary to increase the confidence during development and deployment of the code. Utilize Gitlab, CI/CD, and scripting skills to automate the deployment and analysis of code. Suggest and implement automation to streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring tasks. Work closely with cross-functional team members, including architects, system administrators, and other developers, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability. Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, to foster effective collaboration within the squad. Engage in knowledge-sharing activities and contribute to the collective expertise of the team. Document code, scripts, and configurations thoroughly to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer within the squad. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for the squad. Tech stack on the project:​ Gitlab, CI/CD AWS Must have requirements:​ Must have a strong hands-on experience in AWS; Hands-on experience with infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK) and GitLab pipelines; Good knowledge of IT security principles; Advance experience in software development (Git, Python, TypeScript) Experience with AI development including agentic, experience with delivering AI solutions to customers at scale; AI tools for Devs (Amazon Q, Kiro, Claude), coding assistants, AI agents; Practical experience with IDEs (VS Code, IntelliJ) Service management experience (ITIL or similar) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. EU citizenship Fluent English: B2/C1. The recruitment process for this position consists of two stages: • a short phone call with a recruiter (30 min max) • one-hour long interview on Teams (with both general and technical questions) Salary range: UOP: 12 000-16 000 PLN gross/month.
