About the Role: We're looking for a Director, Field Strategy on the Commercial Effectiveness team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director, Field Strategy and Operations, you'll serve as a strategic leader responsible for shaping the strategy of our field organization through commercial planning, field force optimization, go to market model and cross-functional collaboration. You'll act as the liaison between field-based teams and Global Program Teams, ensuring commercial strategies are informed by field insights while providing thought leadership in field force sizing, targeting, call planning, organizational design, and strategic enablement. What You'll Do: In this role, you'll have the opportunity to define and evolve the strategy that drives field effectiveness, enabling data-driven decision making, optimizing commercial execution, and partnering across the organization to achieve business objectives. Lead the development and evolution of field force size and structure strategies, including ongoing geographic optimization, call plan and targeting, and executive recommendations that maximize commercial impact. Work across the Field Operations and Strategy team to ensure strategy and structure is pulled through operationally and exists in all systems, enablement and execution Partner with Field Reporting and Analytics to translate business performance into strategic insights, proactively identifying opportunities and recommending actions that improve commercial execution. Define the strategic integration of reporting and analytics into field initiatives, ensuring performance insights support business priorities and field effectiveness objectives. Develop executive-ready recommendations, business cases, and change management strategies that enable informed decision-making and successful implementation of commercial initiatives. Work Closely with field teams to understand gaps and needs to identify and develop plans to leverage AI to implement as a solution Advise field sales leadership on strategic priorities, operational processes, and organizational changes, fostering alignment, adoption, and continuous feedback to strengthen field execution. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to influence the design, usability, and adoption of field tools, reports, and resources, ensuring solutions meet evolving business needs. • Lead cross-functional planning with field leadership to develop communication strategies that support commercial initiatives, operational changes, and field engagement. • Conduct strategic business assessments in response to leadership priorities, aligning subject matter experts, facilitating solution development, and driving actionable recommendations. Who You Are: You have a Bachelor's Degree along with 10+ years of progressive pharmaceutical commercial experience (sales, commercial strategy, commercial operations, leadership, marketing, market access, or commercial excellence), or a combination of education, training, and experience. You are or you also have: • Deep expertise and Demonstrated experience developing and influencing commercial strategy, with expertise in field force effectiveness, targeting, customer segmentation, call planning, or territory design. • Proven ability to establish and cultivate strategic partnerships while influencing key stakeholders across a highly matrixed organization. • Ability to confidently interface with Executive Leadership, providing strategic recommendations and serving as a trusted subject matter expert. • Strong consultative leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups. • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business data and analytics into actionable insights and strategic recommendations that drive commercial decision-making. • Experience leading business planning, organizational change, and communication strategies aligned with enterprise and commercial objectives. • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to anticipate business needs, identify opportunities, and recommend innovative solutions that improve field performance. • Exceptional executive communication, presentation, and influencing skills with the ability to distill complex information for diverse audiences. Nice to have (but not required): • Experience supporting product launches or growth stage brands • Experience in rare or specialty disease commercial environments. • Experience with CRM platforms, commercial analytics, and field force automation tools. • Experience supporting field force sizing, territory alignment, targeting, or commercial deployment strategies. • 5+ years of experience leading or managing field-based or commercial teams. Where You’ll Work This is a fully remote role. It can be performed effectively from anywhere while staying connected to your Insmed team and community. Occasional travel for team meetings or events may be expected.
