Kraken Robotics is currently seeking a Director, Global Facilities to join our team. This position is Remote. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, the Director, Global Facilities is responsible for the strategic planning, operation, governance, and continuous improvement of Kraken's global facilities portfolio. The role ensures that offices, manufacturing environments, warehouses, and other operational sites support business growth, operational execution, production readiness, customer commitments, and long-term organizational objectives. The Director, Global Facilities is accountable for facility management, capital project delivery, site readiness, real estate planning, and facilities governance across the organization. The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal, Information Security, Information Technology, People & Culture, and Business Units to ensure facilities are safe, compliant, cost-effective, scalable, and aligned with business priorities. This role also supports mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities by ensuring facilities are appropriately assessed, integrated, optimized, and governed. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Facilities Strategy & Portfolio Management Develop and execute a multi-year global facilities strategy aligned with business growth, manufacturing capacity requirements, capital plans, and acquisition activity. Establish and maintain a comprehensive view of the organization's global facilities portfolio, including offices, manufacturing sites, warehouses, and other operational facilities. Assess current and future facility requirements and provide recommendations regarding expansions, consolidations, relocations, acquisitions, disposals, and facility investments. Lead long-term facility footprint planning, capacity planning, and utilization analysis. Establish and maintain facilities governance, standards, policies, and operating practices across the organization. Support facility-related due diligence, planning, and integration activities associated with acquisitions and divestitures. Facility Management & Operational Readiness Ensure all facilities are safe, reliable, properly maintained, and capable of supporting business requirements. Oversee maintenance programs, building systems, utilities, infrastructure, and facility services. Establish preventative maintenance programs, facility service standards, and facility performance metrics. Partner with Business Units, Engineering, and Supply Chain leaders to ensure facilities support manufacturing, testing, service delivery, and customer commitments. Ensure facility readiness for new manufacturing programs, product introductions, laboratory requirements, testing environments, and capacity expansions. Identify facility constraints, risks, and dependencies that may impact execution, production capacity, or customer commitments. Drive facility improvements that enhance productivity, throughput, utilization, and employee experience. Oversee the organization's global fleet management program, including company-owned vehicles, related policies, maintenance programs, replacement planning, and utilization management. Capital Project Delivery Own the delivery of facility and infrastructure capital projects across the organization. Establish project planning, budgeting, governance, reporting, and execution practices for facilities related capital investments. Lead facility expansions, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, equipment installations, relocations, and site modernization initiatives. Ensure capital projects are aligned with approved business priorities and business cases. Partner with Enterprise Transformation to align facilities projects with enterprise governance standards and portfolio priorities. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and capable of achieving intended business outcomes. Real Estate & Lease Management Oversee the organization's global real estate and lease portfolio. Develop leasing strategies that support business requirements, growth objectives, and financial performance. Leverage third-party real estate and facility management providers, where appropriate, to support lease negotiations, lease administration, market assessments, and portfolio management activities. Support lease negotiations, renewals, amendments, expansions, acquisitions, and exits in partnership with Legal, Finance, and executive leadership. Maintain visibility of lease obligations, key decision points, risks, and opportunities. Provide executive leadership with recommendations regarding real estate strategy and facility investments. Risk, Compliance & Business Continuity Ensure facilities comply with applicable regulatory, environmental, building, occupancy, and operational requirements. Partner with Security to support physical security controls and secure facility operations. Partner with People & Culture on workplace health and safety programs while maintaining clear separation of accountability for health and safety governance. • Identify facility-related risks and develop mitigation strategies. Support emergency preparedness, business continuity, disaster recovery, and site resilience planning activities. Support Finance and Legal by providing facility-related information and risk assessments relating to insurance programs and claims activities. Leadership & Team Development Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Global Facilities function. Establish clear roles, responsibilities, standards, and accountability across the function. Foster a culture of ownership, customer service, continuous improvement, and disciplined execution. Provide executive reporting on facility performance, portfolio risks, capital project status, lease obligations, capacity considerations, and investment priorities. Act as the organization's senior subject matter expert for facilities strategy, governance, capital project delivery, and operational readiness. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities, operations, manufacturing infrastructure, capital projects, or related functions. Proven experience managing industrial, manufacturing, engineering, laboratory, warehouse, or technical facilities environments across multiple sites and jurisdictions. Demonstrated experience leading capital projects, facility expansions, upgrades, relocations, consolidations, or infrastructure modernization initiatives. Experience operating within complex manufacturing, defense, marine technology, aerospace, robotics, or industrial environments. Proven ability to build and manage budgets, business cases, capital plans, and long-term facility strategies. Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority. Strong understanding of facility operations, maintenance management, business continuity, operational readiness, and risk management. Demonstrated ability to align facilities investments and operations with strategic business objectives. Strong communication, leadership, and executive presentation skills. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Business, Operations, or a related discipline.
