Director, Growth & Innovation Who We Are You can find Arclin everywhere. Our technologies make homes and transportation safer, help crops flourish, keep water clean, protect first responders and members of the military, and preserve the purity of essential pharmaceuticals. These vital, everyday products can't fail, and we’re here to give the world an extra layer of performance and peace of mind. With ~4,000 team members across more than 30 global manufacturing facilities, we operate with the scale to make a global impact and the agility to solve complex challenges at the molecular level. Rooted in scientific discovery and innovation, Arclin’s materials redefine performance across industries - from Firepoint®’s patented intumescent technology that helps stall flames and save lives to the iconic Kevlar® and Nomex® brands trusted to protect those who serve, strengthen aerospace and industrial systems, and perform where reliability and safety are top of mind. As we expand our mission‑critical materials portfolio and shape the next era of performance technologies, we’re looking for people who want to grow, lead, and solve the challenges others can’t. Together, we’ll advance the innovations that keep the world moving. Because at Arclin, our people are truly Vital Beyond Measure. About the Role: Arclin is hiring a strategic and results-oriented Director, Growth & Innovation to join our Growth & Innovation team, reporting to the Senior Director of Business Growth & Innovation. In this role, you will lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution—applying strong technical acumen, business insight, and structured project leadership. The ideal candidate brings a proven ability to navigate complexity, align diverse stakeholders, and translate technical and market data into actionable outcomes. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, are able to influence across functions and positions and are passionate about driving innovations that delivers measurable value—this is the role for you. *This is a Remote role. Roles: Point of View Leader: Lead early-stage investigation of growth and innovation opportunities, building the fact base needed to determine whether an opportunity merits further investment and organizational resources. Market and Competitive Intelligence Leader: Define markets, customers, competitors, growth drivers, threats, industry structure, and next-best alternatives to create a clear view of where and how Arclin can compete. Customer Problem and Value Proposition Architect: Clearly define the customer problem to be solved, the proposed Arclin offering, and the differentiated value created versus current and emerging alternatives. Business Case and Economic Modeler: Develop rigorous commercial and economic models that quantify market potential, revenue, margin, cost position, customer value, capital implications, and key sensitivities. Portfolio Decision Support Partner: Translate Point of View work into concise, evidence-based recommendations that enable faster and better go / no-go, prioritization, and investment decisions. Enterprise Point of View Capability Builder: Establish repeatable methods, standards, and tools for Point of View development and help expand this capability across Growth and Innovation as enterprise processes are integrated. Responsibilities: Opportunity Screening: Rapidly frame new opportunities, identify the most important unanswered business questions, and determine the appropriate depth of further investigation. Maintain a bias toward early clarity - advancing attractive opportunities while identifying weak assumptions or fatal flaws before significant resources are committed. Market and Competitive Analysis: Build fact-based views of market size, growth, segmentation, customer needs, competitors, substitute technologies, and factors that could strengthen or erode future attractiveness. Evaluate Arclin's potential offering against the next-best alternative, including differentiation, barriers to entry, and sources of sustainable advantage. Business Case and Economic Analysis: Develop transparent financial and economic models for opportunities, including price, volume, margin, cost-to-serve, competitor economics, customer value, capital requirements, and scenario / sensitivity analysis. Partner with Finance to validate significant assumptions and investment cases while maintaining primary ownership of the G&I business case. Stage-Gate Business Case Support: Own and continuously improve the market, competitive, value proposition, and economic portions of early-stage business cases and Gate deliverables. Work closely with portfolio and project leaders during Stage 2 and remain engaged in later stages when new information requires the underlying Point of View to be refreshed. Decision Communication: Convert complex research and analysis into concise Point of View documents, 2-pagers, and management pre-reads that clearly distinguish facts, assumptions, uncertainties, and conclusions. Present a clear recommendation and the critical evidence required for leadership to align on go / no-go and prioritization decisions. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong working relationships with Commercial, R&T, Operations, Finance, Engineering, and other subject-matter experts to test assumptions and develop well-rounded business cases. Use internal and external expertise efficiently, integrating technical and commercial inputs without shifting ownership of project execution away from the designated project leader. Point of View Capability Development: Create and improve research approaches, analytical frameworks, source standards, financial models, and templates that increase the consistency and speed of Point of View work. Coach and, where appropriate, coordinate others performing market and business-case analysis so the capability can scale across the enterprise. Expectations: Decision Quality and Throughput: Increase the number and quality of opportunities that can be evaluated and enable earlier, better-supported decisions on where G&I resources should be focused. Analytical Rigor: Develop defensible, source-based conclusions; make assumptions explicit; use scenarios and sensitivities to show what must be true for an opportunity to succeed. Strategic Curiosity and Business Judgment: Combine broad market curiosity with practical judgment, moving beyond data collection to form a clear view of implications, risks, and recommended actions. Collaboration and Role Clarity: Partner closely with portfolio and project leaders while remaining focused on Point of View and business-case development rather than owning project schedules, workstreams, resource coordination, or execution. Results: Improve portfolio focus and management alignment by helping Arclin identify the opportunities with the strongest probability of creating meaningful, sustainable value - and stop or defer opportunities whose business case does not justify further investment.
