The Director of Clinical Research will serve within Hanger’s Department of Clinical and Scientific Affairs and collaborate with the Chief Clinical Officer to define and execute the organization’s clinical research strategy. This role oversees all clinical studies and research data collection efforts at Hanger Clinic. The Director is responsible for leading the research team and managing the operational, analytical, and logistical components of the clinical research portfolio, ensuring adherence to established budgets and timelines. The Director also ensures that all research activities comply with applicable regulations and align with and support the organization’s broader business strategy. Your Impact Set strategic direction and lead large clinical trials/data collection efforts. Manage clinical research and operations including design and initiation of clinical trials to optimize tactical and clinical value through global site selection and data portability. Manage clinical research team to accomplish set goals. Responsible for defining clinical research strategy including the management, oversight and dissemination of clinical studies and research data collection efforts across Hanger Clinic. Develop and aid in submission of federal grants to support continued research efforts. Aid in the development and implementation of Clinical Practice Guidelines. Author and/or work with others to develop publications based on the results of the clinical trials. Provide updates and status reports to senior management on a regular basis. Manage the operational, analytical, fiscal and logistical tasks associated with our clinical research activities in alignment with our business strategy. Develop and maintain professional relationships with academic and community-based physicians, clinicians and payers to assure alignment of strategy and outputs. Manage staff and outside partners/service providers. Represent the company at major annual conferences. 20% travel Minimum Qualifications Minimum PhD degree, preferably with coursework in the following areas: mathematics, statistics, bioinformatics, biomechanics, kinesiology, public health and/or clinical research administration; Strong publication history in relevant clinical or scientific journals (generally reflecting 20+ peer-reviewed publications). Minimum of 8 years of related work experience. Experience in Orthotics and Prosthetics profession. Preferred 10+ years’ experience in research environment Strong clinical Orthotics and Prosthetics knowledge Additional Success Factors Strong record of academic achievement including peer reviewed publications, experience in grant writing, ability to attract external funding Self-starter and take the initiative to proactively solve/investigate problem areas Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exhibit critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze and apply where applicable Accountable, meets deadlines consistently, and initiates process improvements where applicable Advanced knowledge in research methodology. Advanced knowledge of the orthotic and prosthetic profession Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite programs (i.e. presentation software, pivot tables, formulas, and macros) Evidence of written skills through publication Ability to manage a team at a high level. Remote: Pay range of $140,000- $150,000 + bonus + benefits. This pay range is posted to comply with wage transparency laws. Hanger salary ranges vary based on skill, ability, knowledge, geographic location and other variables.
