Director of Fundraising

Role Description The Director of Fundraising is a full-time remote role responsible for leading Wendi Foundation’s fundraising strategy and revenue generation efforts. This role oversees relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners, while developing and executing annual giving campaigns and philanthropic initiatives. The Director will design strategic fundraising plans, set targets, and monitor performance, ensuring alignment with Wendi’s mission and program priorities. Day-to-day activities include prospect research, donor outreach, proposal and report writing, stewardship communications, and coordination with program and finance teams to present compelling impact narratives. The Director of Fundraising will also mentor fundraising staff or volunteers, refine fundraising processes, and support board members and senior leadership in fundraising activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors, including individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.
• Strong communication skills, including persuasive writing, public speaking, and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in philanthropy, including knowledge of donor motivations, ethical fundraising practices, and global giving trends.
• Proven track record in annual giving programs, campaign planning, and donor retention strategies.
• Advanced strategic planning skills, with the ability to design long-term fundraising roadmaps and set measurable goals.
• Additional beneficial qualifications: experience in non-profit or international development contexts; familiarity with remote collaboration tools; strong analytical and budgeting skills; ability to work independently across time zones.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related field; advanced degree or fundraising certification (e.g., CFRE) is an advantage.
