We are hiring a Director of Paid Media Operations to lead, organize, and scale our paid media operations department. We manage Meta Ads and Google Ads for ~1000 B2B SMB clients in the US home services market. Our next phase of growth is operational scaling to support 3,000+ accounts.
This is an execution-focused, internal marketing operations leadership role built for a systems builder You will lead the technical performance team (media buyers and optimization managers) responsible for campaign structure, bid strategy, platform execution (Meta & Google Ads), and post-click conversion optimization, run rapid cohort tests, identify statistically valid Ad winners, and scale them across hundreds of local accounts.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Campaign Operations & Scale
- Lead the day-to-day technical execution of Meta Ads and Google Ads across a high-volume portfolio of 500+ local SMB accounts.
- Oversee account configurations, placement allocations (Reels, Feed, Stories, Search), bid strategies, and audience targeting rules.
- Build visibility into overall campaign delivery, identifying CPL spikes, ad fatigue, and performance blind spots across client verticals[cite: 10, 11].
2. High-Velocity Rapid Testing & Optimization
- Establish rapid testing protocols (4-to-7 day test cycles) to evaluate new ad copy, creative hooks, lead forms, and landing page offers[cite: 7, 10].
- Analyze full-funnel conversion metrics—moving beyond top-line CPL to evaluate CTR, lead-form completion rates, lead quality, and client retention.
- Monitor ad decay and creative saturation, ensuring underperforming ads are continuously cycled out and replaced with validated winning assets[cite: 10, 11].
3. Process Engineering, SOPs & Playbooks
- Convert individual media-buyer wins into standardized operating procedures (SOPs), diagnostic checklists, and vertical playbooks[cite: 7, 10].
- Work with analytics and engineering teams to embed validated campaign rules and optimization logic into MetaGenie (our internal ad-tech automation software).
- Eliminate departmental dependence on spreadsheets, endless meetings, and individual memory by engineering automated tracking workflows.
4. Team Leadership & Accountability
- Directly manage, mentor, and accountability-manage a distributed team of media buyers and campaign operators.
- Establish clear key performance indicators (KPIs) for campaign launch speed, QA compliance, test completion, and CPL reduction.
- Build a culture of rapid execution, disciplined testing, and continuous process improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6+ years in performance marketing, paid media operations, or growth marketing.
- 4+ years of direct experience running and managing high-volume campaigns inside Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
- 4+ years leading, coordinating, or managing remote teams of media buyers or performance specialists.
- Proven track record managing or supervising large client account portfolios (agency, franchise, or high-volume SMB models).
- Demonstrated experience creating SOPs, playbooks, diagnostic checklists, and workflow automations[cite: 7, 10].
- Deep understanding of full-funnel CRO: ad hooks, landing page alignment, lead-form friction reduction, and CPL vs. lead quality validation.
